Bromine is a Halogen. Halogens are highly reactive elements. The Halogens in order are:
Fluorine Chlorine Bromine Iodine Chlorine Gas was used effectively by the Germans in WWI. Bromine was probably used becuase unlike Chlorine which is a Gas at room temperature, Bromine is a liquid. It burns the shit out of your lungs, etc...resulting in death. Halogens are so reactive that they will react with almost anything. |
