Someone should follow this for curiosity's sake. Maybe even I will if I can get one of my Maryland resident siblings to investigate.
I would like to mention that IMHO, Maryland's housing development "politics" is as corrupt as corrupt can get. (I lived there for the first 30 years of my life)
They have a nice cutesy little low income housing program, the Moderate Priced Dwelling Unit (MPDU) program, that I participated in for over 5 years. You have to be drawn out of a lottery. 5 years, I was never drawn. Couldn't be because I'm white/male could it?
Also, in my neighborhood, a huge TH development went up and state law requires that something like 10% of the houses be for this program.
I remember going to look at the houses after I sent my form in. Funny thing, about 10 years later, _all_ the units in that section went up for sale. I went to talk to the RE agent that was sitting in one of the units made into an office.
Seems the whole bunch was bought up by an investment group, were rentals for 10 years, (funny, I remember part of the stipulation about the program was that you had to keep it for 10 years) and now the investment group was selling...
Wonder who is padding their pocket with this project. Think they are worth allot of $$$$ now? Just think what they will be worth in 10 years.
And you poor MD'rs are gonna pay for it all. Ya ever wonder where all the Dem’s get their money? Ya ever wonder why all the Dem’s love government programs?
