A buddy of mine just got back from a hunting trip so we cooked up a little feast tonite. It was my first time cooking or eating dove and i really liked it. We cooked the bird two ways, on the bbq and in the pan. Here are a few pics of the meal, enjoy.

Sitting in the marinade getting ready for the bbq.  fallkniven f1 and S&W 640 prelock

More dove seasoned up ready to cook. rolled in garlic, salt, garlic powder, pepper and other seasoning

Just put on the fire

Almost ready to eat

Dinner is served, dove two ways, rice and corn covered in butter, Titos vodka and Crown for drinks.

Noveske middy(black rifle), Ruger GP100,xd9, LWRC m6a2, Scrap Yard Dumpster Mutt LE, Swamp Rat Ratmandu. and a Big God Bless America magnet to remember 9/11 and the ones we lost 9 years ago today.

Automatic 10/10.

You went out and killed them, cleaned them, and ate them.

I think it was a Cooper's Hawk.

What's a good recipe for those? And you better get more. That scrawny thing wouldn't make a good appetizer.

Wrap the breast with bacon, stick your finger in some good quality BBQ sauce and swipe one side of the breast (light on the sauce), and toss on the grill, quite wonderful.

I've put cheese and a jalapeno in there too.

10/10 sir!

Had a friend from Germany visiting several years ago.

He said my bacon wrapped, onion and jalapeno grilled dove meal was the best he ate the year he spent here in the US.

Season opens here this weekend.  I hope to make a killing!

9 / 10. I love dove, but I'd like to have seen the gun they were taken with.

I hope you're ot serious, that looks like a hawk. Hopefully you found it dead and you're being funny, because killing it is a federal crime.
ETA-saw that you found it dead.
Dove hunting is not an option here, no season. Even if there was I don't think I'd bother, as I never see enough to bother hunting them, but duck season opens next weekend and bow season for deer is coming up too. Getting anxious for both.

Next time, filet the meat off of the bone and marinate in Italian dressing overnite.  Wrap a piece of bacon around them and hold it together with a toothpick.  On the grill, they are an outstanding appetizer.
