ARRI is a company that makes movie cameras, lighting, etc. They're pretty much the standard in the feature film world. They're like BCM/KAC is to the gun industry.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when the feds don't raid a gun manufacturer. I'm interested as I am in the business myself.

Of course, the link is to REDuser, a forum for fans of the RED cameras, a direct competitor of ARRI.

There is a lot of parallel behavior between their forum and this one.

My bets are as follows:

1. Some sort of fiscal/tax impropriety that comes under federal law.

2. Something in the Arri product comes under U.S. State Department controls for export of technology/munitions and they did not dot all the "i's" and cross all the "t's". (Like now NVD's, certain software, even video cards an American can buy cash-n-carry still can't be exported without State Dept. approval etc...)

Yeah, the timing sucks. I'm convinced the feds do that shit on purpose "just because".

I was all excited about the Scarlet TWO YEARS AGO.

The endless announcements that announce announcements and the tiered release are just pissing me off.

Yeah, it's a great camera, but jesus already. Enough with the hype, just give me the damn thing. I realize it's the Oakley guy who runs the company, and he knows marketing, but enough is enough.
