Is this one of those days where you volunteer a day's work to spite unions, and go in anyway?

Anyone give a finger to organized labor by refusing to eat hot dogs and shoot guns, or have family outings?

Let's hear your tales of disobedience to the Union holiday.

I'm weak, I'm going to grill some pork ribs and relax.

But, I've learned that ARFcom has some very principled people. I know there's some of you guys that are protesting today. Let's hear your sacrifice. It'll inspire me.

I would but I got a ton of shit to do out at the farm...... (unless they call cause we only got one guy on today and I expect it to be pretty busy, in which case not only will i fuck the unions by not taking the day off , but doubly fuck them by not getting paid for going in)

Have today off. Went in for 5 hours on Sat. morning. The seven of us are trying to keep the doors open. We make great windows, but are understaffed. Hard to beat a deadline for shipping that way.

Somedays I feel like saying fuckit, but I've been there 17 years , and like the guys I have worked with for all those years. We used to have 30 people.

Trying to keep the co. afloat.

Double time and a half comes out to like $87 per hour for me. My shift tonight is 12 hours.

Fuck yeah, I'm working. Or at least I'll be there. On night shift, when nobody else is there, and no work is scheduled. Unless something goes horribly wrong, it will likely be a shift filled with DVD and Directv after about an hour of checking equipment and taking care of paperwork.

Solidarity my ass! I'm gettin PAID today.

I'll BBQ later in the week when I get done fishing or shooting doves.

Getting ready to leave in a minute. Busy time of year for me. 7 days a week for what seems like forever. I'll get a day off when it rains. I guess that will be my labor day. I always work New Year's day too. You have to start the year off right.

Going to go cut down a 70' tall beech tree at a friend's house, cut/split/load it up on the truck, haul it back to the house, unload, and do it again until the tree's gone.

Another day there's a 150' tall poplar that's about 4' at the base, plus a 5' wide oak, and a 120' or so tall Ash that need to come down on their property, too.

Dad and I figure that between the two of us we should have plenty of firewood this year. :)

I will be making time and a half today. I will also be getting another day off with pay later this week which will allow me to leave one day earlier on my bear hunting vacation.

I work in the medical field so it's pretty slow today so we have only a bare bones staff. I could've put in to work it, but didn't think that far ahead. I will next year.

I plan to do nothing today if I can get away with it except for 1) going to the range 2) stopping at the liquor store to see if they have any sam adams octoberfest, if so I plan to buy a case 3) in that case the rest of my day will be spent drinking beer

Also have a cool movie I picked up at the redbox I need to watch. Its about the russians in afganistain, its in russian with english subtitles. I need to watch that this afternoon.

I have 348 Adtran TA600's that need a firmware upgrade. I did roughly 30 of them last week throughout the evenings. I hope to get a decent portion of them knocked out today but if I dont, no big deal.

So I have plans to but we'll see how it goes.
