I need a new MP3 player, my current 30gb Zune 1's screen is slowly failing and its time to upgrade.

What I'd like:
1. Not an ipod
2. No camera; work regs...
3. Capacity over 15gb; spinning or solid state doesn't matter
4. Can play videos

Any suggestions?

Kharn

This. I know some people don't like Apple but the reality is the iPod is the best MP3 Player on the market. They make so many versions that there is one that would fit almost anyone's needs.

I don't think Sandisk has anything with 15+ gb capacity or a good size screen for videos...

but I could be wrong. I don't stay on top of the latest models.

Cowon is another brand that is very popular among the head-fi crowd.

Speaking of which, http://www.head-fi.org/forum/list/15

You should be able to find all the pros and cons there and help narrow down your options.

I have been using a Creative Zen X-Fi2 for about 10 months now. I fricking love this thing! Comes in 8, 16, 32 and GB capacities, FM radio, plays videos, superb sound quality. The resistive screen is not as resposive as a capacitive one, but it's not really an issue.  If all you want is a media player and not a mini-computer this thing is great.  Too bad that people associate media player with iPod, when there are cheaper/better alternatives out there.

Get another SanDisk product...

I have the Sansa Fuze.  Mine is a 4gb.  But it has a slot for a micro SD card.  I've expanded mine to 12gb.

The card can integrate with the internal memory for 12gb of shuffle.

If you wanted more memory you add an 16 or 32 gb Micro SD card.

I love my Sansa player and highly recommend it.

I do the  same with mine.

Just make sure the model you choose is capable to expand high enough.

Some have a 4gb limit, others vary. And... small screen unfortunately.

I've got an 8gb card in it now.   combined with the Fuzes onboard memory that's something like 1700 songs on shuffle.

Enough for me.  I haven't had to add anything for awhile.

I recently had this problem. I bought an iPod because I needed 40gb+ of storage, the iPod works fine but I'm lukewarm happy with the deal. I fucking hate iTunes, it's glitchy for me and won't import all of my music. I just tried to reload it last night and I did a clean import but again when it finished I only had 8 gigs of music loaded. Apple is a colossal piece of shit as usual.

i currently have a 4 plus 8 setup fuze as well.

I bought the fuze for 60 bucks at bestbuy, and for 35 bucks you could throw in a 16 gig card and have a 20 gig, compact, video capable, FM tuner equipt player (With no dumb itunes) for >100 bucks
