Feb. 2012. War on terrorism has been draining America for many long years now. Our forces are spread wide and thin throught the middle east. Still much support, after all, this is a war being faught for freedom.

It happens early on a cold Feb. morning. A gigantic earthquake rocks off the west coast. Our government tells us its "the big one".

Much damage in coastal cities from Vancouver B.C. to San Diego. The resulting tidal wave totally obliterates the entire west coast.

All our military defenses have been destroyed. The Hawaiian Islands have been destroyed. Cities gone. People dead. Those that do survive head east.

What we learn later is the "earthquake" was set off by nuclear explosion set deep in the floor of the Pacific. Its obvious that the secrets stolen by the Chinese during the 90's have worked well for them.

All the shipping containers that have been stacked on top of one another in large areas near the Panama Canal now release their contents. All the containers stacked and interconnected house Chinese troops in full battle gear. [we often wondered why so many containers stood unused]

The Chinese moved on Taiwan in a blitz. We could do nothing. The Chinese already had ships at sea headed our way. We had few forces in the area. No match.

Mexico falls as easily as France did. [anything to survive]. Latin America goes with the flow.

The U.S. Government cannot defend California, Oregon, Washington. Chinese troops move in fast. Paratoopers within hours.

We are on our own.

Could it happen? [:)]

The logistical nightmare of getting an invasion force to the US mainland would make such a thing impossible.  Look how long it to the US to get Desert Storm going.  

The invasion is already taking place anyways--Mexicans, and Central and South Americans have overrun our country.

A continent-sized earthquake/tidal wave would spread across the Pacific to China as well.  

Bye-bye Taiwan island and Chinese coastline.



If its big enough to extend from B.C. to Baja, then the Panama canal would flooded also.

Bye-bye Central America and all those Chinese-Trojan horse soldiers.



The resulting waves (as you describe them) would also prohibit pacific sea travel for some time.

Bye-bye Chinese Navy in transit to American shores.

The Chinese navy doesn't have enough ships for an amphibious attack on Taiwan, let alone California.

Actually I can only hope the Chinese are dumb enough to try it.

It would eliminate Mexico/Latin America, China, the Taiwan powderkeg, Californistan including Berkeley, SanFranFreako... AND would give me in Arizona a beachfront property!

The Chinese culture is fiercely introverted.  They have little/no use for foreigners.  They don't need land or additional territory, since the western half of China is completely uninhabited.

They would gladly invade Taiwan, because its "their" island.  And they would help the N. Koreans since its a friendly buffer zone for them.

Its far more likely that they'd lob a nuke at us, just to be rid of America.  They ALL (from the peasant on-up) hate America, and have no sympathy for Americans.  If they were convinced that we could not nuke 'em back, they'd glass us in a minute.

Why would they attack their largest trading "partner" and piss away the billions of US dollars pouring into not only the country, but lining the Chinese general's pockets.

For the Chinese, there's a big difference between posturing/politically expedient talk and actually doing it.  Taiwan is still around, isn't it?

A Chinese invasion of the US doesn't make any sense at all.

Alternate scenario that poses a bigger threat than the Chinese.

Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas all become hispanic majority states. They elect hispanic leaders who are pro-Mexico. The borders become esentially open and unregulated.
Unlicensed and uninsured drivers crowd our freeways. The traditional "summer jobs" of high schoolers are taken by mexican nationals who pay no taxes in the US. Thier children over burdon the school systems, and healthcare systems. Slowly turning the desert southwest into a third would nation.

In the east and midwest crack and HIV/AIDS sweep through the black and low income white communities. Entire generations are lost.

In other areas well to do kids are raised by MTV. Every middle class kid wants to be Fred Durst or a gangster-rapper. Girls in their early teens, under the influence of party drugs like Alcohol, Marijuana, and Exstacy, perform sex acts previosly reserved for porn stars. Young girls learn to equate sex with love and STD's skyrocket.

The scurge of Methamphetamine spreads from the desert southwest. Clean high quality hawaian "Ice" distrubuted by west coast biker gangs, gives way to dirty clumpy "meth" made in back yard or motel labs in San Bernadino & Riverside counties, then distributed by illegal mexican immigrants. Gaunt looking white girls with rotten teeth raise bastard children. Children who spend their days smoking weed and watching MTV while mom dances in the strip club, repeating the cycle of drugs & poverty.

Ignoreing the logistics, or the fact that the national guard has a fleet of mothballed B-52's, and A-10s, plus the entire main line US bomber fleet operate out of the continetnal US in the heartland. (if that happened the Chinese troops would be introduced to the Daisy cutter, and the neutron bomb) Such a secret build up would be impossible with modern space based surveilance, and by 2012 space based systems will also have very down to earth capibilities. (USAF and DARPA working on a offensive KE system that drops/launchs depleted uranium/tungstun kill vehicle that strike the ground at Mach 6-12, perfect for killing hardened locations with no warning.

So in short, the above described scenario is not possible now, and less possible in 2012.

Also if things really started to look bad, then Chinese ICBMs, are based on the SS-18 and require 2 hours to prep for launch, which can be detected by our sats. The waring to impact times for a Trident III missile are between 5 and 10 minutes depending how close they are. Point being if things started looking that bad, the US could kick china out of the Nuclear club with all of their birds in their silos, and there diesel elctric subs could be destroyed with non nuclear munitions, 6 ways to sunday before they could bring their weapons to bear.

China will not be a threat to the US for at least 20 years, if they last that long with out pissing us off, or having a revolution.

Yep, and this one is closer, much closer, than you think.  The details may differ slightly, but this is a pretty clear picture of the endgame for this country.

I'd like to help, but the gov't has confiscated my firearms, ammo, air rifles, paint ball guns, pocket knife, nail file, nail clippers, knitting needles, I am not allowed into the u.n. controlled biospheres and it is illegal to own sticks or rocks.....

I don't see any other "culture" with the ability or the drive to supercede the Western European civilization that we have so epitomized here in the USA.

That's not to say we won't be overrun by hoardes of barbarians as we are now.  

But I think any current culture that replaces the "white" (as you call it) people's civilization here wouldn't last more than a few decades before it devoured itself and crumbled from it's own self-serving apathy and laziness.

(Let me be the first to say this thread is going to get locked!)

Could not happen without a whole lot changing.

1. China has no Navy, as others have pointed out. It is doogone hard to supply an army across a large ocean.

2. Nukes _probably_ cannot start an earthquake unless the quake was almost gonna happen anyway.  So first you have to get good at earthquake forecasting...And faults generally break several miles underground.  Hard to drill that deep with no one noticing.  

3. You underestimate our ability to resist, even if large quantities of our military forces are committed overseas.  For example, we've got dozens of M1 Abrams tanks in podunk Boise, ID. Mobile artillery, too.  And quite a few A-10 Warthogs.  Mountain Home AFB is nearby.  Our National Guard can kick most any standing army. We could kill Chinese faster than their navy & air plane (can't say air force) can reinforce.

A more likely scenario is that China being a member of the UN would assist our government in putting a stop to rampant domestic terrorism. The domestic terrorism would be brought by the slow, but methodical erosian of our rights by the statists in our own government. Loss of freedom of speech, self-protection, etc, etc...

The general MO of the Soviet Union was to foster, and support financially, political groups which loudly and vocally undermine, say, the military, nuclear power, oil drilling, conservative politicians... Oh, and gun rights. Read the stories defectors tell.

I don't think anything like this would succeed any more than twenty guys with box cutters could take down the world trade center and rock the economy of the free world.

Why don't you guys back off the scenarios and look at what is happening?
First, remember that all commercial activity has the fingers of the Red Army somewhere pulling the strings in the background.
We all have heard of the Panama Canal situation with property leased and controlled at either end.
The attempted co-opting of the Long Beach Naval Shipyards.
Of course, the only container full of AK-47's they ever tried sending here was discovered. We sure put a stop to that, didn't we?
Remember the Red Army General that was only kidding (yes I'm being very tongue in cheek, it was an overt threat) when he talked of [b] NUKING [/b] Los Angeles?

The scenario you should be worried about is a strategy of undermining the United States while China strengthens itself and makes the most of opportunities. They do have a long view and will wait decades. However, I don't feel they will wait that long. They don't need to. You guys think of invasion and domination. Really, all they need to do is disruption and entanglement. China wishes to increase its sphere of influence. That doesn't mean they have to conquer us. If they can tie us in knots, then while we are putting out fires closer to home, what's to stop them from going after Taiwan? What would happen to North and South Korea? What would Japan do when it's major ally's position as a world power is suddenly undermined? Don't worry, you don't need to use your imagination. They are.

Have we learned we can be surprised? Have we learned that well planned operations can be amazingly disastrous to our infrastructure with minimal resources? How can we effectively engage decisively on multiple battlefields when we're not able to choose the time and place, and our Military has not been built back up to historical levels?

So, we see the ambitions of China to increase it's power and influence. We are the major obstacle to that goal. We, and they, know that they are unable to take us on in a direct confrontation. We also know that they are becoming stronger, and we have been in decline for 8 years. We know that for China to accomplish its goals it doesn't need to defeat us, it only needs to prevent us from defeating them. For this, it is a small investment to strategically place itself to disrupt commerce and military traffic in the panama canal, cause domestic upheaval in the United States, wave the nuclear sword and dare us to get in their way when they finally seize an opportunity to strike. It will probably happen in conjunction with another world event which demands our attention and dilutes our ability to deal with them.

And once they've changed the balance of power dramatically, who knows? Maybe world domination will follow.

Just another reason to stop buying Chinese crap at Wally World.

Scenario? Could happen? It is happening NOW. It's been going on for 20 years and the roots of the ideas were started in the 60s.

Have you guys NOT seen Jerry Springer, Jenny Jones, Riki Lake, etc? Rosie O Donnell is a national hero because she is gay. People are actually crying because she was "so brave" to come out. To the vast majority of the population Rosie is a GOD. She is only slightly diminished by Oprah who is a bigger GOD because she is black.

Do you really wonder who these people are that make celebrities out of dykes who complain, gang members who can rhyme and killers who can play football? If you can think rationally and have common sense, YOU are a minority.

Oh I don't know. The scenario posted is unlikely, and a Chinese invasion of the continental US is unlikely any time soon, but the Chinese are the major threat to democracy and freedom in the world. I think we will wind up fighting them in the near term future, say the next 10-15 years.

The Chinese lack a real Navy. In fact, everyone in the world, except for us, lacks a real Navy capable of projecting force abroad. In order to pull off an invasion, they would have to have the ability to suppress our naval forces and keep their sea lines of communication open to make and support a forced landing on our shores, and support it in the long term, and they would have to develop a sufficiently high-tech maneuver army capable of defeating our heavy forces on the ground, and all without triggering a concurrent build-up of our forces.

I think we will probably end up fighting them in Siberia or far eastern Russia to save the Russians. It won't be your war, but your kids will have to worry about it.

Both scenarios (fighting the Chinese in Siberia and fighting a Chinese invasion of the US) have been played out in a couple of fairly entertaining novels by Eric L. Harry.
