OK I will bite on this one..

IAJack, chief conspirator of the hawkeye state AR15 crowd checking in

Last time we had the Iowa members shoot I hit GoatBoy up for the published E-mail list of Iowa members which was around 100 or so? I got alot of responses from ppl who couldn't make the last shoot due to it being so short notice, but would be in next time. So It sounds as if it will grow into a decent sized loacal event.

If someone wants to help plan and organize the next one to try to make it better that would be great. The local club we had it at last time still works for me and is available if suitable for everyone else? If you aren't on the E-mail list be sure to send me a note to be put on or keep checking the boards for upcoming events.

For the BRC as a partial sponser I printed the raffle tickets. I am planning on printing up name tags also. Kinda dorky maybe, but I want to know who everyone is and where they are form! I will have on them a place for board name, real name as well as State you are from.

If anyone wanted to do some T-shirts, I can also print transfers for around 5.00 each(my cost). They are the type you have put on with a press (at a T-sirt shop). I think the last time I went to a shop in Merle Hay Mall and the shirt and transfer was 10 for a total of 15.00. I would be happy to do them for anyone who wanted to design something up.

I am of course going to the BRC and will be headed down fairly early Thurs. morning the week of if anyone wanted to meet and caravan down?

Later

IAJack

Part time Iowan. One of you guys go get me some Taco Johns ok?

Damn I miss that stuff. We suffer under the Taco Bell plague around here. They actually opened a Taco Hell in Marshalltown to compete with Taco Johns. Too damn funny, that place is as empty as a Democratic Reagan Fan Club. Who would eat that dog food when Taco Johns is up the street?

I would like to know if or when you have this next meeting because I would love to go.  I live in Cedar Rapids now but I grew up in Pella and my brother-in-law lives right down the road from the Izaak Walton range.  I believe he even works with someone on this board.  I just got a ar-15 2 weeks ago and am loving it.  Just need more ammo and time to shoot it.

I love Taco Johns.

Back home in Marshalltown for a few days. Went out to LaGrand on 30 and wow, have they ever changed the highway!!!

Thinking about taking the wife to Rubes and then over to hit a casino for a while tomorrow night.

Then again I hear there is a rather good steak house in Laurel called Websters den. Might have to give that a shot instead of Rubes.

If you feel like having a couple of beers I go over to the County Line in Le Grand quite a bit. Might run into me there. Also, if you get to the casino before 4:30-5:00 go up to a security guard and ask for the IT Director. They will come and get me.

Hummmmmm they have security guards, might just need to check into getting a job there after the AF lets me retire[BD]

Got lost in La Grand yesterday as it's soooo big[>Q] Wanted to take the wife & minchkins shooting at the quarie (shot thousands of rounds there and have the 2001 LEGP with us this trip) just like old times, but have not been able to yet.

More than likely will try to hit Rubes around 1700 and then the casino whenever we get done stuffing our faces.

Where is the County Line, don't remember seeing it tonight and have never heard of it before. Did most of my drinking at the bar in Rubes as Montour was way closer to home.

PS.....you see a red F250 with Wyoming tags it's us wandering around [beer][beer]

There is a pretty nice Izzac Walton Range just past the Casino. Drive past the Casino on hwy 30 heading East till you come to the top of a hill with a long whit Picket Fence on the S Side. Turn N on that Gravel Road and go about 1/4 mile and the range is on the right just before a curve. The County Line is on Hwy 30 in Le Grand across from the Post Office. I drive a Silver Jeep Wrangler with Washington State Plates and a desert camo spare tire cover.

Ended up going to Websters Den down in Laurel on advice of family. They have excellent steaks, relly good salad bar and if you want they will grill the steak for you instead of you cooking them. Highly recommend them!!!!!

Ended up at the Casino after showing the wife Montour and the old farm. Now ifin I could just find a good job somewhere so we can move back to Montour/Le Grand area after I retire (whenever that is due to stop loss) Who know's might have to look into a security job in the casino one of these days.

Really liked the casino, last time through the area it was nothing but a bingo parlor.

Did not see you're jeep when we crused through La Grand right around 2300. Will be busy Wed and then headding out bright and early Thurs. Maabey next time we get back this way we'll have more down time and can hook up.

PS.....if you hear anything about the jerk who lost his keys [:I] and a few keys fit something else, causing a tad bit of concern in the security office.........that was me[stick][stick]
