You have to remember that modern fighters are unstable by design and have to have the computers working to fly. Even though there is redundancy (or triple or quad redundancy) hit the right couple of spots and no computers. No computers, no fly. They do not glide without the computers due to the design. Hit the right control surface and it won't fly since they are constantly adjusting. The un-stable design is done to get the plane to have that super maneuverability and/or to get some stealthy features into the design. Note the difference between a straight wing A-10 and this sleek su-34. |
