All of the plate glass windows on the front were boarded up and on the inside all blown out. The shop door on the side was also all covered in plywood with a few bullet holes in the wall. They said that during the peak of the riots, they had a "running" gun battle with a band of thugs for 20+ minutes. This is not a bad neighborhood, right near Cal Tech. There are housing projects to the north and over by the Rose Bowl + in Alta Dena. They didn't lose any guns but that store never really recovered. Since then -- in an attempt to drive FFL's out -- it's my understanding that CA in general and LA in particular have double and tripled down on storage regulations for FFL's to increase their security and inconvenience. Hopefully that actually helped a few FFL's from getting over run this past week.
