You are not truly poor until you live weeks at a time on bologna sandwiches with mustard.

I was at a point in the late 99s where I had $10 a week for food.
Eggs were $.50 a dozen, loaf of bread was a buck. Splurge on some cheese slices, and maybe some ground sausage if I came across a few spare bucks. I still can't eat a fried egg sammich. |

But you do have to actually cook. Though for most working-class families, doing tacos al pastor right (especially marinating and then grilling the pork properly) is going to be a weekend-only affair. But a pork shoulder is a lotta meat, so you could make a week's worth. |

FINALLY.. a dinner pic that lives up to the title.
Well done OP?? |

Exactly and could have used the money towards more rice. |

That's not really the wealth signifier it once was. Even rental properties have them now, since most of them are actually laminates.

Look pretty tasty to me, but I'm a simpleton
I don't think we're poor until we ain't got a place to call home or a bucket to piss in, but what do I know. |

Carbs, fat and a “soda”.
OP is likely dead by now according the pretend health nuts on here. |

You guys have lunch?
Well.....look at all the richy rich country club snobs in this thread! |
|
Why don't you skip breakfast and lunch and do OMAD (one meal a day). Will save you money and you'll be much healthier.
Intermittent fasting will take some getting used to but it's quite easy. Start out skipping breakfast only. Have black coffee and alot of water. Then when you find it easy enough go ahead and try skipping Iunch as well. You can have a good dinner and still save money. |
