I am setting here watching Clint Eastwoods movie about Richard Jewell for the first time.
I watched the Manhunt series but this seems to go into more depth. I was 11 at the time and only barely remembering it in real time. How bad was this guy fucked for months? |
|
They tried to go in that guy dry.
Fuck the gov and the media who just lap that shit up. |
|
My office was down the road from his apartment. The number of news trucks outside for weeks was astounding.
|
|
I found the movie excellent and the actor who played Jewell did a great job.
|
|
|
I’ve read enough about the bombing and the fucked up investigation to never, ever trust law enforcement again.
RJ was a cop wannabe. Actually he was a cop for a short time. He trusted them to do the right thing. They didn’t. He learned, eventually. |

It was a very good movie....
Shows you how awful .gov peeps can be. |

ending diner scene is really well done. top notch cast

Why was the 90s the decade when shit started to get fucked up?

That movie was hard to watch. The shit they did to that poor guy was heartbreaking.

Quoted: It's always been fucked up, especially the FBI under J. Edna Hoover. The 90's is just when the curtain started to peel back, due to the newly minted CNN driving a 24 hour news cycle. View Quote That makes sense. The Sensationalism horseshit started then. I remember watching news all the time then. It started with the Gulf War. |

I don't know why but the treatment of the mother always bugged the hell out of me.

View Quote I happened to be watching Olympics coverage late at night when the bombing happened, so saw events play out live. What was shown live on TV deviates from the narrative somewhat. It was disheartening. By the next morning the events that were broadcast the night before were memory holed and never shown again. |

Now watch "Police State" by Dinesh D'souza. Jewell was just practice for Now.

Good, eye opening movie. |

There was a lot of ridiculous pseudo science bullshit back then, like psyche profiling.
Oddly, the real bomber was kind of an Arfcom hero. |
