Goatboy needs to get on this ASAP.
Put all other tasks aside and make this a priority. PAYING Members should have an option to select topics in GD, then click a button to have them removed so they are not to be seen. Akin to removing threads from our subscriptions. Implementation in GD first. Then, if you wish, the rest of the forums. |

Quoted: Why? It works the way it is. Subscription works well enough View Quote I do not think you understand what my demand is. Has nothing to do with Subscriptions. Has everything to with scrolling, checking and then clearing topics from GD as they are not to be seen again..Like an ignore feature. |

You'll make Covid, Trump and boomer threads go away?
You're doing Gods work young man. Go forth and sin no more! |

More censorship. A firearm community that censors its self. Because of muh feels!
No thanks. |
|
First the site would need to enforce "no editorialized thread titles"
Honestly after the worst offenders got locked for it you might not need to filter anymore. |

Or something along those lines... View Quote You spend too much time in the center wing tank taking naps? This demand is the exact opposite of that, sir. YOU will have control, not others. |

If I alone select a thread that I find to be repugnant in nature, boring, et al..and freely choose to remove it from MY view, how is that censorship if the rest of the site can see it? |

View Quote Went over your head like a shooting star. You assumed I was too stupid to know what you were talking about but I knew exactly what you meant that's why I called it self censorship. LoL @the rocket scientist calling me out. Like a horse putting its own blinders on. |

I'm not opposed to this but I'm not clamoring for it either.
As I have pointed out many times, we need a 'current thing' forum. When people start spamming the board with covidukrainehaiti threads, staff can just redirect them to the 'current thing' forum until volume drops off and it's no longer the current thing. These things always come in cycles. A 'current thing' forum would be a great pressure-relief-valve. |

If you were as smart as this demand is, you wouldn't even consider it to be a form of censorship. You exposed yourself! At no time did you indicate, post, type, etc, "self censorship". |

I totally agree with the OP
I’ve had the same thought in the past. There are some threads that I would prefer to not even see the subject again It would save scrolling past the same dumb assed trolling posts over and over It would have no effect on anyone else. |

View Quote There is a chance that a Kia thread, a tranny thread, NFL thread, a calculator thread or a pencil thread just wont die. I have NO desire to read or participate in those topics. This demand, when met, will allow me to select those threads for my personal removal. Thus, providing more room on page 1 for topics that may be of more interest where I would want to participate. It would further the quality of the site. |

How about a feature where the OP of a thread can use keywords in the first post such as
#ArfcomCurse #divorce #relationshipAdvice And then a filter box at the top of the forum. If I start typing "relationship", than it filters just those threads that are tagged as such. Just #spitballin |

That would be pretty nice.
COVID DOOM? Bye. VAX DOOM? Bye. Inane Boomer/Zoomer thread? Bye. The only downside would be only seeing 4 threads listed in GD after the purge. |
|
Are you not disciplined enough to simply avoid clicking on the thread?
|
|
You want any team member to be able to delete any thread?
There would be no threads. Or are you saying you want to be able to hide a thread from yourself so that only you can’t see it? |

View Quote No it would allow page two to move to page one...and so on. The death of some topics would be a second chance at life with some others that you may have missed. That is why this shouldn't even be an option. |
