Who gets pissed off because they can’t hit a golf ball?
Or are you one of those guys who look down at that little plastic ball and say see this big hunk of metal fixing to spank your ass? |
|
I had free use of a golf course one summer and spent a lot of time on it as a total rookie looking to learn. First spent a bunch of time on on the driving range with some instruction. Got pretty good. Could hit a ball straight at a distance of 100 yards.
Then I tried playing a round. Attached File |

We had friends in town a few years ago, and they wanted to hit Top Golf one night so we could hang out. No problem, they're two of our favorite people, so I'm happy to do whatever.
Let's just say it's not a skill I ever developed. I'm very, very bad at it, and that's okay. |

Not a driver. |

I don’t give a shit about golf, but it attracts people with money to the area, and a small percentage of them pay my bills.

I have a knack for naturally smacking that MFer! Lots of fun!!

Is golf really a rich person activity?
You can get decent clubs and a bag these days for $500-$700. Balls/tees $50. Local lower end courses are $30-$50 for 18 holes. I don't buy it that golf is some expensive hobby only enjoyed only by the elite. |

If I tell you ‘I hit a golf ball’ you can assume there was a rifle or pistol involved.

I'm one of those guys that looks at a golf course and sees a waste of a perfectly good rifle range.

I don't get mad because I'm a social
Go out with the guys, have a few brews, call it a good day if I keep it under 100. |

What a lame-ass hobby.
Smacking a ball and then going after it to hit it again as hard as you can. |

Hate golf. Enjoy disc golf. I’ve been fortunate enough to play some private courses that were epically beautiful in the mountains here. My brother is pretty good. Only play when I’m hanging with him.

Is there a difference between 'fore' and 'pull'! I have trouble hitting either one!

I prefer sports where someone else chases the balls I hit and not me.

Golf is a game of human fetch, thats what dog's are for.
Hit a ball and chase it... |

I feel the same as my father did and I quote "I'd rather hit a cow flop around a pasture with a stick than play golf." He went on to become an avid golfer, I still feel that way.

Quoted: Golf is not for poors, so I'm unable to answer. View Quote They have public course and driving ranges to practice on that don't require that much money to be spent. Get some clubs used for a fraction. You don't have to buy the new titleist titanium driver, but I appreciate those of you who do, so we can make more of that titanium. Like many things, you can spend as little or a lot of your money on it. But if you're really that broke, you probably should focus on improving yourself so people will pay you more money. But do that before you get too old. I don't golf anymore because I have too many other hobbies and activities, some that I am better at and enjoyed more. So golf was one of those things that i figured had to go. But it was fun to do on occasion. |

I tried the game and played twice at two different courses. This was after a bunch of par threes. I do not care for the game and have not played in years. My Grandfather was a huge golfer and was a member of his Country Club back in the day. Two of some of his proudest moments were the two hole in ones he hit in his career. I remember my Mom taking possession of those two trophies he kept on his desk after the funeral. I was truly sad/happy for her with that expression on her face. I do enjoy watching the big tournaments on TV like the Masters. It's an interesting game to watch on TV, and my grandfather always had golf or baseball on TV. A huge Yankees fan.
Back to your question OP. When my ex and I were raising our kids there was a driving range near by. For a few years every summer I would go and hit a bucket of balls. Did this a couple times a month through the summer to get out of the house for a short break. When my son got older that was replaced with batting cages, fun times. I should really go hit a bucket of balls. But no, I never got pissed off at it, I got better at it and always that it was fun. Just like getting out to do some shooting, etc... |

It’s tough to hunt, fish, and play golf without one suffering. |

I can hit a golf ball, not very well though.
Don't care, I'm in it for the booze anyways. |

When I'm not releasing popular folk songs in my mother England I perform golf in the PGA tour making the cut over 40 times ... but never finishing too high in the money.

The closest thing to golf I've ever played was Putt Putt as a teen. Golf holds zero interest to me.

I do my drinking with a stick differently, I end up with fish.
