Suddenly got the hankering to see some nice artwork. Its your chance to brag. Don't worry, I'll do manly shit later. Got a bear? I'll fight it. But right now, I want to see something beautiful. Doesn't have to be a painting, any example will do.

I have an oil painting by Grif Teller that my father commissioned in the mid-1980s. It depicts PRR GG1 No. 4935 on a fall day at Princeton Junction.

Not sure if it counts as fine art, but have 4 numbered aviation prints - one of a B-17 and 3 of C-130s.

Not sure I'd call it "fine art", but this tapestry hangs in my hash making room.

"Fine" might be subject to differing opinions, but I have various pieces that make me happy.

We have some original pieces, but not sure they meet the definition of fine art. Mostly local artists who I doubt are known internationally - we like them though and those are the kind of people I like to support. I’ll post some photos when I get home if I remember.

Still kicking myself about not trusting my eye, and not buying the Than Tsidih olla I saw at the post out the west exit of Ildefonso. Admittedly, it'd have been a few hundred bucks, which is what I spent on a few other lesser pieces, and gas, and a meal or two. It's now worth maybe high four-low five digits. Fender's got some skill and creativity. Aargh... I used to have some Meissen. Lost it in the divorce. Still have some 19th century Haviland, and damned if the teacups weren't better then versus now. I'd love a Canaletto or Belloto, and the giant space to properly display one. The Marketplace at Pirna...sigh. |

I've got some pieces collected by my wife-to-be from the San Francisco ceramic art community of the 1970s. At the time, ceramic artists endeavored to elevate the status of ceramics from a 'craft" to "fine art." I don't know what became of that. But apparently, I've got some pieces by fairly big names from that time.

I've got 2 pieces that were originally displayed at some long-dead relative's castle for a couple hundred years.
No idea if they're "fine" or not. I've also got a bunch of eskimo carvings, some of which pre-date Europeans in NA. Not fine art at all but cool to look at. |
