My little 6x8 gets its ass worked off every day.
Also got a little 5x6 my dad built to match his CJ5. At some point I need to bring the Jeep home and put it back together I just don’t have the room for it currently and it’s not hurting anything where it’s at currently. |

5x9 dual axle made of 5” c-channel rated at 7000#. I routinely haul about 4000# of fir/larch firewood from the local firewood processor with my (set up for towing) ‘17 Tacoma.
Last load put my truck/trailer combo at 11,080#, or 220# below the book’s maximum overall weight for truck/trailer. ![]() Only have two real hills to go up and the tow home is all in 4WD. I’m surprised how well it does given extra time to get going and stop. |

I've always built my own for myself and others, as well as properly rebuild shit commercial built trailers that are poorly built...
My most recent build from scratch, made for hauling a hunting buggy on...rated for 12,000 pounds, empty trailer weighs 3610 with the ramps installed, 4 tie down chains, 4 binders, spare tire, jack and lug wrench all in the box... ![]() A look without the deck on it... ![]() testing the lights... ![]() the underneath before paint, you can see the seam sealer to keep water out... ![]() Testing with one of the buggy, this one runs around 8500 pounds..heavy ass ford... ![]() This is a commercial my buddy bought to haul his buggy on..lasted less than 2 years and broke the pivot for the tilt deck and started folding the shitty joke of a frame work they built with channel and angle iron..took it down to the bare frame and rebuilt it all...It works good now, I just don't care for tilt decks, drive overs are much better for buggy...that and it adds too much weight, this trail runs 4500 pounds rated for 12000 also... ![]() This is the stripped trailer, I've already fixed the main frame crossmembers, it had 2" angle for crossmembers welded to the bottom face of the channel..we replaced it with the 2x4" welded in with an overlap and the plates To box the channel at every crossmember.. ![]() A shot of the trailer as we stripped it with the 2" angle crossmembers and shit design and build... ![]() The fab work almost done, trailer gained a 1000 pounds but its 100 times stronger than the POS it was.... ![]() ready to go hunting... ![]() |

My rig. Trailer has a nice bank of drawers and cabinets in the nose, and a small counter top on which I installed a vise.
Use it primarily for Appleseed events, but comes in handy moving the kids around between home and college. ![]() |

We currently have seven trailers. Two stock trailers, three utility trailers of different sizes, an equipment trailer for the mini excavator, and a gooseneck for hay bales and logs. Been looking at dump trailers but haven't settled on one yet. I don't want to think about how many tires that is. I may have a trailer problem.
![]() Oops, I forgot the enclosed trailer, so eight trailers. |

In this thread, I learn that U-Haul made campers.

Quoted: Any kind of trailer. Enclosed work trailer, atv/utv trailer or just utility. I feel they are unsung heroes of tradesman and weekend warriors. A good trailer is priceless. Are their any brands that stand out? I see Big Tex brand a lot. What kind do you have? I picked up a Triple Crown from the factory recently for atv/utv hauling. Awesome, we'll built little 18ft trailer. Goes for $3999 nowadays. https://i.imgur.com/sNm9Jli.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/0m3Ocpf.jpeg View Quote Looks like the trailers that get overloaded, stacked with gravel peppering the highway with bouncing projectiles on a daily basis in my AO. |

Quoted: I have a PJ 16' landscape utility dual axle that I love, but I need a bigger one now. Also have a PJ 12' landscape utility single axle with ATV ramps that form the sides on the front. It's good, but they made a couple changes since I bought my 16' trailer and I don't think they were improvements. Still, big fan of PJ trailers; I looked at a lot of brands and the PJs just by far had the best features, at least around here. https://i.imgur.com/ZUN4QG0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/SJ4QG8o.jpg View Quote I like the round bar used on the gate. |
