OK, its cleaned up.
The camera wasn't at the condo, so I didn't get any pics.
The teapot is still in one piece, but is deformed at the top lid location.
Looks like this is what happened:
That vent got plugged resulting in a build up of pressure. Pressure, of course, raises the boiling point of water. So the water got a LOT hotter than regular boiling temperature. Then the lid started to pop off restoring regular atmospheric pressure and the entire contents of the pot boiled all at once. As in instantly. It was what you would call a steam explosion. It was loud enough to create a "boom" sound, and the little lid made a mark on the ceiling. I'm very lucky not to have been in the vicinity.
Bloody fucking hell.
