that will probably piss everyone off, but welcome to America! I have been on this site for several years, and have noticed that I have 90 posts on the site after the one yesterday about the Bowflex machines. I see people that have been here for a far shorter time and have "thousands" of posts and I wondered how it is that someone can have the time, knowledge, and been there/done that, to achieve these remarkable numbers. I am on the site every day, usually a couple times a day, and consider myself a fairly well versed individual in many areas. However I have to wonder do you have jobs, any other hobbies, or families? Is there a pinnacle of postmanship that they are attempting to reach? Are there bragging rights associated with this? I have gleaned a great deal of knowledge on this site, and I thank all of you for this. However inquiring minds want to know. So go ahead and let me know, I have my Nomex suit on and several variants of the best AR-15 rifles(prancing ponies of course, locked and loaded) ready to go. Let er rip!!!!!!!!!

So, this is your 'other' account?
![]() I have a job. It allows me to do what ever I want- I own the business. This site brings many, many, many sites together. So, since I joined here, I quit going to 4 or 5 other forums. I could care less if they took away the post count stuff, but 90% of the other people here would blow a fit. Look at how many jump ship at 10k or what ever and suddenly they no longer have 'time' for ar15.com. It's all about attention at that point...with supposedly grown men. I like it here, good people (mostly...judement still out on a few ![]() If I need any thing gun related, I will never go anywhere else. Just here. If I ever need anything else, I will start here. |

i personally have no life and aspire to 10,000 posts at which time i will ascend to a higher level of unconsciousness and achieve nirvana.

I have suggested numerous times that if we went to DU's practice of capping post count at 1000 and calling them 1000+ members it would eliminate 3/4 of the bullshit posts and problems that we have on here.
And of course I get shot down every time. I too cant understand why post count is so life or death vital to some of you guys. Maybe someone will come along and explain it. |
|
if everyone posted 91 posts every 5 years the site would be down to 1 page in GD

Some people's jobs allow them the opportunity to keep tabs on the site, other poeple have good memory as to what they have seen or read in the last few days. Team members also have the ability to search for topics for what they need to find out.
FWIW, I think capping posts at 1K is actually a pretty good idea. |

At least I have one fellow heretic! ![]() |

+2 And add an alternative to the "tag" system while they are at it. |

Some people just shooting the shit with their 'friends' here.... That a problem for you ?
Sure, we have some 12 year old trolls, (and some who just ACT 12 years old) but every site does. Those types live for their post count, and to stir shit... What can you do. Maybe if you made friends with a few people here, you too might start seeing your count get up there. It's nice to sit around with a bunch of like minded people and chew the fat, after all. Also there's a bunch of odd-shift people here, who get online because they haven't got much else to do.... And a few who have physical disabilities and probably don't get out often, or are even ABLE too..... This place has ALL types.. You can't really assume that there's one simple answer to such a question. |

An army of 4
And no one yet to explain this sick obsession with a stupid number that makes grown men act like 3rd graders. How about all you guys over in team having a party cause somebody hit 10,000.....Anybody? |
|
Fixed that for ya ![]() |

Personally I don't want to loose the race to 10,000 against tc6969 ![]() Postcounts on every post are kind of silly. If you really want to keep track of it, put it in their profile. I guess I'll refrain from comment on the certain newbie who managed 1,000 posts in a month here ![]() |

"Sarge" got banned.......... Duhhhhhhhh ![]() ![]() |

This has replaced Drudge Report for me. The breaking news is ALWAYS here 1st-or very quickly after it breaks.
I'd come here to check out current events before anywhere else. HH |

If this is just going to become another +1 thread then I'll refuse to participate.

It actually helps me work. I don't work well continuously, but rather in sporadic bursts. I post here to help clear my mind and then I get back to work. Plus, my wife lives 350 miles away and you can only masturbate so much. ![]() |
|
My theory is that it must be guys with really small penises that worry about post count...YMMV..... ![]() |
|
|
It's wintere, what else am I going to do at night?
![]() |
|
|
No, that can't be it. I have a terribly small penis and I don't worry about my post count one bit. Wait a sec, did I just say that outloud? |

Me too! And at this rate it'll only take another 39887.5 days! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
