Great pictures, shows a lot of the tragedy Does anyone happen to have pictures of the levees that are leaking water, I hear a lot of talk on the radio but haven't seen any pictures yet.

Amazing satellite pics. I've not see such high quality shots of this storm.

The highest quality satellite pics are from the POES satellites, which are polar orbiting as opposed to geostationary. Since they're low in orbit, they move, and don't produce a static image that can be looped, and don't always look at the interesting places. So, most TV and internet sites don't pay any attention to them.

Is there a good source for the POES satellite images?

Where do you find the images?

That's the thing. I get mine from http://www.savannah-weather.com/ - and they don't have the highest quality images except for special events. On the left side, look for 'APT Images 24/7' and 'POES Information'.
If you have the required radio equipment, you can pull them down from the satellites yourself.

Anyone see any photos of the grain terminals in Reserve, Ama, Belle Chasse, Destrehan, Westwego, LaPlace, Convent, Myrtle Grove or other places in the Port?
