I'm watching Blazing Saddles and I got to wondering if I enjoyed the Mel Brooks classics or the Monty Python movies best.
I can't really decide.

This is a really good question.

I can do:

.45>9mm
Beatles>Elvis
Beans>No Beans

But I cannot decide on this one and must vote pie.

You watch your ass!
As much as I love Monte Python, The Holy Grail and Life of Brian are the only movies I really watch over and over.  But I'll watch a Mel Brooks flick any time I see one on the tube.

Bearnaise: I don't like your cuffs!... I don't like your cuffs! I don't like your cuffs! A man's cuffs should be even with the tip of his 'pee-pee'. Yours are all the way down to your balls!
Count de Monet: At least I have them!

I voted for Mel but honestly both are great and in my opinion as others stated they are a little different style

another answer should have been "Get both"

Those are the only 2 Mel movies I like, but they are great. I can watch them over and over. The same goes for MP and the Holy Grail.

The fact the poll is limited to movies affects the results.

There are only three canon Monty Python movies I can think of (Hollywood Bowl and Completely different don't really count, skit performances from the TV show)

ETA:  I know every work to "The Philosphers Song" and I voted Brooks Movies

Completely different style of Comedy. Personally, I think British humor is kinda strange.
I prefer American brand of Comedy, so I will go with Mel Brooks. His movies are always great.
However, that isn't to say movies like Monty Python Holy Grail aren't classics.

Mel Brooks is hit or miss.  Sometimes he knocks it out of the park.  A lot of times he strikes out.

Everything from the Monty Python troupe is absolutely golden.

They're both quotable for miles.

That's like saying "I never found American humor funny". There's a big variety.

I've always written off the opinion of anyone who equates Monty Python with Benny Hill as unrefined, and not worthy of consideration.
