I'd bet they were both pistols. Two gunshots, about five seconds apart, one within 50 yards of my apartment, the other about 100-150 yards.
Since this happens twice a week, I'm not going to bother calling the police.

But you guys have all of those gun laws to prevent gun violence and make you safer. I don't understand how this could be happening.

I live in an oasis, on one side $5,000,000+ homes, on the other boarded up windows, I hear gun shots quite often and rather enjoy watching the ghetto bird fly around with its light on in circles from a distance.
I rather enjoy it

Sandbags and a 1919a4 should secure the place nicely.

Ghetto bird, that's a good one!
Westlake is something of a problem area for the LAPD, hence his fellow spent most of last night circling a couple of blocks down from my hotel window. Can't sleep? Better take a picture then.

I've been hearing gun shots all morning. It's my neighbor shooting clays. If I had some ammo I'd go over and help.

good, sounds like you have them outgunned, and at that distance, you should be able to silence the problem.

I have the same thing lately. Usually, the shots are around 35-50 yards off, but about a week ago, they were right behind my apartment. I am on the 3rd floor, and I jumped up, and was looking out the window, straight down, because it sounded like it was right there. Sheriff was there about ten minutes later, but I didn't call.

No biggie. Probably just another ARFCOMmando playing the "Adult" version of "Marco Polo." You're supposed to return fire with a larger caliber. The guy with the .50 BMG or Lahti usually wins.

Well, if you would hold still, it would have only taken one. I'm reloading...........

New neighbor down the road complained to his landlord about "several bursts" of gunfire he heard the other evening just after dark.
He mentioned he knows he is in "the country" now, but doesn't know of anything legal to hunt after dark.
He needs to read the hunting regs more closely, and nothing wrong with shooting 24/7 in many places.
BTW the cyclic rate of a browning A5 (semi) is quite high.

I heard the same thing in North Hollywood... after it became a regular occurance we moved out... Now about a few months back, My kids and neighbors heard a gunshot. This is a white bread bedroom community too... We were thinking probably a ND or suicide... never heard anything more about it so... Nothing I can do about it... Not like there was anything I can do about it in the first place.

My dad and I were repairing the fence at our ranch when we started hearing gun fire in the distance. We continued working until suddenly my dad stopped and said to me, "You know, we don't think anything of people shooting guns like it's WWIII out here, but at home we'd be freaked out if we heard ONE gunshot."

It was probably a Blood chasing down a Crip or something drug related. We get that here too, but not that much lately. Let them kill each other, just watch out for yourself/family in the street.

Yup. I'm listening to my neighbor target shooting with his muzzleloader at the moment. Deer season is a comin'.
