I agree with slugbait, but as to the kind you put chili on and consume (don't even go there), my preference is Hebrew National dinner franks. Yum! And I'm not even Jewish!

Any kosher-style hot dog is head and shoulders above the rest (no pun intended, and not Jewish either)

Ball Park hotdogs from the market! Great when you grill them on the BBQ. They plumb up when you cook them. Toss the dogs in a bun and pile on the cole slaw; break out the potato chips and I'm set for the day! And don't bother me!! Yum! [:)]

Oh, man. I haven't had a slaw dog since I lived in SC for a while. Slaw burger neither. Hmmm, I know what I'm having this weekend.

As someone who is a Southerner, I can say that I doubt it. It's my experience that only yankees refer to a grill as "the BBQ."
BTW, Oscar Meyer Bunlength kicks ass. Also whatever they use at Dairy Queen.

Admiral--those are the ones I buy. But now that my weiner is longer some of it still sticks out of the bun. I'm lookin for bigger buns. I like to have my weiner all the way in.

HEBREW NATIONALS?! WHAT THE...? OK, so I'm not familiar with this brand of "dog". What is it? Don't tell me it's some kind of sick joke. I mean, I WAS going to vote for the "Ball Park Frank", as in "plumps when you cook 'em", but maybe there's something else I should look for at the Supermarket next time. Will one of you please explain the "HeebDog" to those of us that aren't yet enlightened? Or is this one of those things better not known?

If any of you guys go to Las Vegas, drop in on the Lady Luck Casino downtown and pick up their "funbook" -- it comes with a coupon for a free hotdog (or at least it did when I used to go to Vegas).
SOP was to hit the Lady Luck for a free hotdog lunch, go beat up on Binion's while guzzling free booze, and then head to Glitter Gulch for some silicone jiggling. Getting religion has its downsides. [:(]

Sabrett's, hands down. Gotta be a "garbage dog": chili, cheese, mustard, ketchup, sweet pickle relish and raw onions. It's perfect only when you look at it and say, "I think there's a hot dog in there somewhere". [:)]

a quick comment. being a northern guy i have always called it "the grill" for grilling at home definitely hebrew national. for those who are not familier with HN. these are all beef (less beaks and lips) that are kosher (mfg according to hebrew laws) eating out. nathan's and of course sabrett's but since i now reside in colo nathan's is out. there is a hotdog cart that opens up after memorial day. and they stock sabretts. have one smothered in the onion's with red sauce mmmmm but i am partial to german sausage (the garlicky the better) grilled then simmered in beer and onions

Gotta agree 100 percent. Nothing beats these. The lady always has a grin on her face when she sees me getting out of my car because I usually eat between 6 and 9 dogs. And I always mix and match the toppings. Those red onions are the best.
