Ohio Senate and the House have passed the language that will allow Ohioans the "privilege" of self defense. It now sits on Governor Taft's desk awaiting approval. While he has made it perfectly clear that he will Veto the bill and send it back to the floor, his office is accepting calls on the subject. I spoke with one of his minions yesterday and oddly enough he was very polite - with a hint of encouragement in his voice.

Remember, be polite but firm with your stance on HB-12. He has 10 days not including Sundays to sign or veto the bill. If he does nothing, the bill becomes law at the end of that period (12/23/03 I believe).

Also, Please call your representatives and thank them for their supporting vote - or encourage them to change their views for Ohioans to have the means to protect themselves in lieu of the current affirmative defense crap.
