Let me first say the recent changes rock, and this site keeps getting better and better.
When we got the inbox capacity upgrade, it was awesome. Putting together a build party or a shoot often resulted in the low cap inbox filling very fast. The new high cap inbox is great as I can just let it go without worrying of an overflow.
I know IM's have their purpose as a quick and simple way to get in touch with other members. Taking event planning into consideration, I personally would like to see the inbox set up more like an email account, with the ability to store the screen names of the people you communicate with frequently so all it takes to snap off an IM from the messenger page is a quick click to put their name in rather than typing it or finding a post they made to click the "IM User" button.
This would also work in concert with the ability to send a message to more than one recipient at a time. In the case of a build party, when I have one message to send to all involved individuals, I dislike having to send it as many times as there are members. When I need to send off multiple IM's, I'd like to simply click the names I need to send to, type the message, and send it.
I know, I know, that is what email is for. I check my email maybe twice a day, but I'm logged onto ARF for hours at a time. I always see when I have a new IM. I ASSume since most ARFcom members log on to their accounts often, IM's are usually the quicker way to communicate.
Anyway, it's just an idea. Maybe make it a Team-only kind of thing; one more incentive to support the site.
Thanks GoatBoy.
