Good friend of mine invited me over to dinner. I’ve been to his house hundreds of times before. He just messaged me and asked if I would take a Covid test when I got there because his father in law is “still spooked over Covid “ I’ve made it this entire time without getting sick or needing a test. Why does this kinda shit always happen to me lol

Thanks for the invite but I'm just going to have to decline now, have a great dinner! The order yourself a pizza the way you like it.

I would simply not respond at all, and go do something else.

"I appreciate the invite, but am going to pass. Enjoy the day with your family."

We have a wedding like that next month.
The invite was too weird. Not just that but this has been one of those "On again, off again" types of weddings that really bring out the craziness of the bride. Only half are showing up. I'd say because of the retarded Covid requirement and people are just tired of the fucking drama. |

Asking to prove that you're vaccinated might start a fight. Asking to do a quick test to make sure you're not infected seems mildly annoying at best.
I'd roll my eyes, and get a quick test to keep his family drama to a minimum. |
|
Bummer. Your good friend is probably feeling pressure from his wife about this. Is a rapid test available to you? I would do that if you really want to go. Masks? No way.

You’ll be much happier. |

Wouldn't. Either no test or not attending. Those are the only options.

"Thanks for the invitation but I have something fun planned."

You don't do anyone any favors by going along with their delusions.
The only way for him to get over being spooked is by living, outside of a hermetic bubble that is all an illusion anyway. |

My MOTHER did the same.
When she started to ask about needing to make sure everyone has been vaccinated....I asked if I could see her card. Asked if she understood vaccination dates and how they impact the effectiveness of the vaccine. She had no clue I have no desire to chill with woke idiots. She can enjoy holidays by herself |

My accountant stated that her whole family got a round of nasal swab tests in a doctors office before boarding a plane. The doctors office billed her health insurance about $700 per family member tested.

My Fiancés family wanted us to come down and stay with them for the weekend, same thing Vax or test. We are not going. F that nonsense. FJB

Simply sad. Part of me would want to respond wit, "no thanks, people who fear COVID who don't have significant cormobidities are mentally unstable and it would be safer for me to avoid them altogether...once your Marxist old-man leaves, I can come over for pumpkin pie"??
The civil part of me would be to politely decline... ROCK6 |

Piss on his FIL while blading at 45°, and yell, "YOU WILL NOT TOUCH MY ANTIBODIES!!"

I’ve had COVID twice. No, it’s not the same thing as a kidney transplant. But if the guys FIL is really that worried, maybe he should stay home and not go anywhere. |

I would also remind them that because they took the jab, they'll be fine. If they're still "spooked" wear a mask. Actually, fuck off.... I don't bend a knee to liberals. |

Go a step further and claim you are in their country illegally and according to their Presidente, Joe Biden, you are exempt from any vaccine mandates and they are racist for asking. |

This shit will never end until people stop catering to it. My reply would be, "Since your dad is so spooked, I believe it would be best if I just didn't come." Then enjoy Thanksgiving however else you'd like without whatever drama they have going on over there.

I'd respond with, 'It's really sad you're willing to destroy a long time friendship over this commie bullshit. But whatever, enjoy Thanksgiving with your family. Don't contact me again.'

Tell him you're concerned about getting da AIDS and ask for copy of his FILs test.

View Quote Good answer. I’m not trying to start drama with my good friends over this and ruin thanksgiving. |
