Did you? Post it. Pics, vids, stats, pr's, maps, whatever, post it up. There's quite a few riders here, maybe we can get some regular traffic to this corner of the ARF.
ETA, Making this winter friendly for the skiers too., Feel free to post your ski sessions too! Snuck a 10 miler in today and a 4 mi hike a bike yesterday. Did my five miles around the neighborhood last night. Plan to do it again, some time today, before the weather gets really bad. Then I'm stuck on the indoor trainer.
ETA: I love pictures. Collect them on many hobbies and interests and some of my favorites are over the handlebar pictures, like the second one in the OP. Makes me want to go out right now and buy a hardtail and hit the trails! I pulled this one off FB this morning: Attached File |

My last good ride was Saturday up at Rowlett Creek Preserve in North Texas. Had a great time and managed 10mph average on a super twisty trail, even though the trail was really crowded. I ended up stiff arming a tree because of someone walking the wrong direction, listening to music and not paying attention. Thankfully I was going really slow when I got near him as he was "drunk" walking. Still no clue why he suddenly side-stepped into my path. Idiot was the only one I was rude to on that ride. That's just the travails of trying to mountain bike in a big metro area. It's still safer than road biking here.
Unfortunately we've had 7.75" of (badly needed) rain since Monday, so the trail will be closed for a quite a while until the clay dries out. I only managed about 4.5 miles on Monday before the rain chased me home. Planning to take my bike south when we head to Texas Renfest next weekend. Riding around the campground will get some exercise and be really good people watching. |

It was 68° head with 100mm fork....and this one, 64° and 150/150. On this full squish bike you have so much more confidence to send shit full blast... ive busted two carbon wheels on it so far Im running 9psi now... should actually be fine but i was sending over some chunk the last two days. They add all 4 team members times together and that’s your teams time. I think we were 5th out of 9 or 10 teams. It was just a fun event. You could also do a 2 man team. ETA: I’ve gotten two third place finishes this year, one in one of the small xc races and one in a small enduro race. The larger races I do are huge to me 200-300 people on the starting line. It makes for interesting riding, pretty draggy and slick, can't read the trail surface and its easy to lose the trail when descending. I'm not complaining though, just happy to get out there. I know for me, just getting through a weekend of DH/Enduro racing without a crash/mechanical is a task unto itself. I managed a few good finishes locally though, but like you, against a big regional field it was a different story. Getting on the podium in a regional race is a long term goal of mine, just haven't had the time or money for a couple seasons. Some small local XC races would be good to focus my training and get used to the nerves again. Some race pics: Attached File Attached File |

Now that digital is here and I finally decided to (ie, was forced to) get a smart phone, I've dipped my toes in the water a bit and I'm surprised how difficult it is to get really good shots. Makes me appreciate the artform even more. My wife has wanted a digital SLR camera for years and we finally picked up a used on a few years ago and I just broke out my old Canon point-and-shoot and the damn thing still works, although I'm not sure it's better than (or even as good as) my cell phone camera. I only have two real ride photos and those are a couple I snapped with my cell phone, just to show my wife, who was patiently waiting in the car, what my ride was looking like.
