Don't tell me, don't tell me..."Mother." Hahahaha
What is it... Mr. Hooper, that's the USS Indianapolis. You were on the Indianapolis? What happened? Jaws (1975) - The Indianapolis Speech Scene (7/10) | Movieclips So, a few years ago, this happened. https://www.ar15.com/forums/general/WTF-Who-was-it-/5-1890498/ Well, it's time to start building. Since one of you weirdos paid for it, you all get to watch me build it. So this will be a combined Indianapolis/I-58 build thread. |

So duping yourself in a Tech forum from what you posted in GD?

I didn't watch the video, but I have no idea what you're talking about.

When I was in Okinawa I R/Ced a 1/350 scale Musashi. I cruised it around the harbor at the nearby fishing village until it hit an anchor rope and went under. |

Already ran into issues with the p/e. I lost the footrails for the funnel caps. I'll probably find them in a few months, when they end up embedded in my foot.

How do you keep the super glue from drying and clogging the nozzle?

I don't think it's possible to make directions clear enough to let me make something that intricate and cool. nice job!

Why are the turrets so long?
I've always thought our two submarine cruisers w/ 6" guns could've done really well w/ a proper IBM fire director. |
|
|
Ugh. Today is ladders, doors, and hatches. And it's short one door. I'll have to use the time honored Navy tradition of scrounging one from another ship.

Pretty awesome.
So you buy the regular kit then the same company makes upgrade parts, or is it a different one? |

Ahh, oil canning. Got it. I've thought about that for airplane models. We go to such great lengths to make them smooth and seamless. And a real airplane, especially old ones are wrinkly as hell. Does anyone oil can on airplanes?

And the prototype models had oil canning on the fuselage skin. But now that is probably a dead product. Since WNW went belly up last year due to covid- crazy since hobby stuff like modeling has seen a bit of a resurgence due to people being confined to the homes so much. I think Fine Scale Modeler might have had an article on oil canning a model airplane many years ago. Used something like a soldering iron and chisel tip to create the effect. |

cool, I've met one of the survivors, and have his autographed book (I can't remember his name atm)

I remember one they did using a curved hobby blade and sandpaper. Lay out the frame pattern within masking tape, then scrape out a little between the masking. Remove the tape, sand to smooth it out. |
