This is generation one Naze32 based drone stuff.

When I moved to F3 processors everything jumped to a bit higher level of performance.    Namely I went from relatively weak 15-20amp esc based 3s drones to 4s drones running 30 amp escs.   I flew one of my Naze32 builds the other night and it couldnt keep up with how I fly now, I managed to get the ESCs to go into current protection mode.

ProLine Pro-MT 1:10 scale monster truck kit.  Just finished this 2 months ago.

ProLine makes so many hop-up parts for Traxxas Stampedes and Slashes that they decided to sell a kit made up of all the different hop-ups.  So it's basically like a fully modified Stampede/Slash monster truck.

Completed the kit with:
Castle Creations 1/10 SV3 Sidewinder WP ESC 1410-3800
Tactic TSX57 Standard Digital Ultra-Torque MG Servo
Tactic TTX300 3-Channel SLT System
Traxxas Pinion Gear 48P 18T
Axial Aluminum Servo Horn

For the battery, I'm using a SMC 5000MAH 40C 2s battery.

I used to own a Tamiya Superchamp in the 80's and loved that thing.  Just recently got interested in RC again after 25 years.  I started with a Hobbyking Nitro Circus 1:16 monster truck, which is pretty cool (and cheap!) . . . but this is my first real RC since that Tamiya.  Also my first time ever painting a clear body.  I modeled it after my King Ranch F150 and am pretty happy.

The car is fun as heck.  Lots of torque . . I have to be careful not to do backflips on takeoff.  I may experiment with bigger pinions.

Just getting back in RC. In the past I used mostly 1/10th scale stuff. I've found that the 1/8th scale stuff is built better and more forgiving when bashing. Spent most of the day yesterday building this. It's a Team Associated RC8B3.1E. It will be running a Castle Mamba Monster X with a 2200kv motor 18t pinion 44t spur (still have to install the ESC). Savox waterproof servo, Futaba 4PLS radio/receiver combo. Mostly 4s battery maybe the occasional 6s.Attachment Attached File

Here's some from when I use to fly RC. Got out of it because of 4 kids an no time to fly. My building skills far exceeded my flying skills.

Weeks Solution I built from a kit. It was just big enough to meet IMAA requirements. A friend bought it and covered it and flew it until it met an unexpected demise.

I took those plans and blew them up to 80" wingspan.

Coveted???

Oh man...

I literally had 50 or 60 of those Hagesawa TA-4 kits when I was a about 14 or 15.  A relative purchased a shot ton of them for a school project and gave me the overstock. (Teachers building models).

I built a few,  but I have no clue where the rest went after my parents split and the move.

Oh damn, you should or maybe you shouldn't see what a 1/48 Hasegawa TA-4J sells for on eBay right now. I got a smoking deal on this one for the buyer. I'm predicting he is going to want a second. Maybe he will until he finds out what a deal I got him. Most are selling for over $65.

@Colt_sporter   thanks for the suggestion on this thread!

Cross posting the models my daughter has built the last 2 years for 4H.   The quality sucks a bit from my cell phone. Maybe I can get some decent pictures with the wife's Nikon.   She did a majority of the work putting them together and all of the painting and decal work.  I did some of the finer details and really small parts, including the engine on the L-4.  Man that was tough to get just right!  Good thing the picture is fuzzy to hide some of my own defects.

She built the A-10 when she was 9, and it is her favorite military plane.   The cool thing was the model kit was actually the tail number of a female pilot and my daughter thought that was really cool!

She built the L-4 when she was 10, and the J-3 is her favorite civilian plane (mine too).   I flew a lot with my grandpa in his yellow J-3, and she saw this L-4 at a local fly-in last year and thought it was really cool.  I want my uncle to take her up in Grandpa's J-3 sometime so she can experience that thrill first hand.  Just have to convince the wife....
