I donā€™t have a photo, but I am drinking Burton James whiskey.  The label is kind of complicated, anyway.

It is a craft whiskey I purchased in Adairville, KY.

While I was at their open house this afternoon, I tasted their batch 1 and batch 2.  I preferred their batch 1 my friend preferred batch 2.  So he bought some batch 2, and I bought some batch 1.

Batch 1 is not as sweet as batch 2.  More rye in the mash bill.

It is good to support local businesses.

That is just one county away and this is the first time I've heard of Burton James. We'll have to make a visit soon

Old Grand Dad in Coke Zero.

I find the high rye mash bill of the cheap OGD 80 proof pairs well with the less sweet Coke Zero (and I care about you too much to mix a better Bourbon with anything but ice   )

Yes, he has a distillery in the old Adairville fire dept building.  burtonjameswhiskey.com is the website.  (I hope It is OK to post a website address).

I live in Lewisburg and seldom get to the southern end of the county, but I am glad I did today.

I didnā€™t word that post well.  It should say that he produces Burton James whiskey.  The whiskey is named after his great grandfather.

Youā€™re gonna need either sweeter simple syrup (try 2:1 or use turbanado sugar at 1:1) or alternate bitters (try peychaud or even a spiced cherry) to overcome that charcoal mellowing flavor IMO.
