As some of you may recall I was deciding on a new bass the other week, and I finally found one. It isn't a Damien 4, but it is Schecter.

feels great, sounds good, but because of the way I play (fingerpicking) the string hits the frets really high up. I have already set the action to an appropriate level, I'm thinking that a lighter gauge will put more tension on the strings and solve the problem.

I pick the strings with my fingers, towards the pickups with my thumb rested the pickup.
