In just a few more years this is a sight that will never be seen again. My oldest boy caught self stimulating on a low level run during a det at Mountain Home AFB.

All honor to your boy

So many of my favorites have ridden off into the sunset: F104, F111, F117, SR71.

A10--still flying. AV-8B--still flying, but not for long you say.

I am by no means a hater of new technology. I like the B2 and F35 very much. But they are so expensive, and so few, they just don't/won't get flown with the same panache that old stuff did.

Yep! Enlarged the image and confirmed.

OP- your son and I shared the same hangar, albeit a 'few' years apart.

Semper Fi!

It has a tiger tail, so I would say yes unless on loan from them.

542 didn't have that in 1978- when I was part of it- on the A models.

Yup Tigers. He's done Spades and now his time at 542 is about up. After 2 fleet tours he's taking a break. Next up Barbie Jets....(UC-35) He's really going to miss grey jets though.

Gaining an engine (which his old man is very happy about) but losing an ejection seat

Just found out that his last Harrier flight will be flying the Harrier demo at Fair St Louis week of July 02-04 this summer. After that it's off to "Barbie Jet" land to fly the UC-35 (Cessna Citation).

You’ve noticed lived until you’ve seen a harrier drop his nozzles in a turn end up on your wing faster than you can blink.

Mark Clark has 3 of them for sale right now. Not only could you keep witnessing that scene but you could be the guy flying it yourself.

Wow, i wonder why he is selling them. I knew he was working on the 2 seater, didn't know he had a 3rd. I belive he had an L39 as well.

Saw the first one at the Cleveland airshow. It was about the only thing worth seeing there and made my day.

Because BD-5J (SMART-1) jets and government contracts for simulating cruse missile's would be my guess.
