With the whole Brokeback thing going on, I was kinda reminded of another movie that caused a huge stir back in the day...

Kiss of the Spider Woman

I can't recall any other movies off the top of my head that caused such a ruckus......funny how it was an even 20 years between them.

I have not seen either, I remember parts of KOTSW from clips, but I was a whole 11 years old when it came out and my parents did not allow us kids to watch rated R stuff back then.

Any others?

I remember that when the first Species film came out, the whole Christian community went completely apeshit. I was fairly young (in my teens), but that I do remember as I wanted to see it.

Also "Wild Things" and "Showgirls"...

And I remember how the show "Ellen" went from "hot stuff" to "nobody watching" in a matter of days after she gayed herself...

Controversial to the lefties:

Passion of the Christ.

Also the Narnia movie was dislike by the atheist- liberal left.

The Dems do not like films that have religious ties

I can remember "The Last Temptation of Christ" being very controversial when I was young.

Yeah, I remember stories of angry Catholics vandalizing movie theaters where it was playing.
