"My" TV isn't "smart" so I have a Roku for the occasion that I do watch something on it.
I don't have any sound systems hooked up The set is connected to the wi-fi router via either net cable. I'd like to replace the Roku, but I don't know which one to use or perhaps I should use something else? We have amazon prime and Hulu (canceled netflix  )What say you? |

I'm no expert, but I have this one. It works well, and definitely supports Hulu.

It's shitty but in my experience "all" apps stop supporting older players (Blu-Ray players, smart televisions, all streaming sticks and devices, tablets and phones too) at one point or another. It's bullshit. |

It's hard to beat the Roku Express 4K+ for $30 (when on sale).
I have several and even bought one for my mother in law. They have all worked great for me. |

It takes a lot of effort, especially for people actually into this stuff. But in case anyone's masochistic enough. This is what I've been doing. Real Debrid, $18 for 6 months, questionable legality (you'll want to use VPN), runs on kodi. This is the closest you're going to get you a legitimate streaming service. But it takes know how to get it working. Buying physical copies from thrift stores. OTA TV antenna, you're gonna need to setup a TV as a PVR device to get recording. |
