Blow my mind with your non mainstream stuff be it a band that just rocks, a recording that was exceptionally mastered, a lesser known album from a major band or just something beautiful to listen to (bonus points if it available on vinyl), broaden my horizons. Show me what u got.....

Beers and Tears And I'll drop a bit of humor to match your last selection: Father John Misty - I Love You, Honeybear [FULL ALBUM STREAM] If you get this album on vinyl its got a pretty crazy pop up cover with sound in it. |

I like the Santana stuff posted above and others on that YouTube page.
I don't know if this qualifies as obscure but it qualifies as good. Power To Love (Live At Filmore East, New York/1970/1997 Digital Remaster) Band of Gypsies This is probably pretty obscure. I saw this performed live on a stage in an obscure small downtown theater. The concert was the most outright fun I have ever had at a musical event. I hope you guys enjoy the album as much as I do. Not sure if it's your cup of tea but I absolutely love it on a real good hifi system.
Holly Cole Trio Dont Smoke In Bed. That stand up bass with her voice....omg. Then throw in the playful piano. Just an awesome trio sound. And, Analogue Productions just re-released it on 200g vinyl. I have it on SACD but I snatched it up on vinyl as soon as it was available. Prior to the re-release it was damn near impossible to find it on vinyl and if you did it was 100-150+ USD in NM/M condition. I Can See Clearly Now Get Out Of Town |

I made this thread for every kind of music, so ppl (mainly me lol) can find new artists and stuff that hasn't been played a million times on the radio. I personally listen to just about everything I love stuff like that, especially if its available on vinyl. I would imagine if you like that you are probably aware of Diana Krall, if not give her a listen and also Patricia Barber both of those I think would be up your alley. IMO these types of selections are incredible if you have the system to really listen to them that can reproduce them convincingly. But yea I'll listen to everything from death metal to anything blues related to Jazz just depends on what mood I'm in. View Quote |

Oh yeah Im aware of Krall. I have her new album and went to see her live. View Quote So I'm really looking for something similar featuring some acoustic guitar, got anything interesting (this goes to anyone reading this :) ) bonus to some newer indie and extra bonus to something available on vinyl? -edit- Let me just add in addition if someone has anything with some blues or blues roots is going to make my day acoustic or not. :) |
