@Twisted10 I’m really sorry to hear this. Life can be a c*nt some times. That bike is beautiful and I’m sure it killed you to let it go, but you’re doing the right thing for your kids. I wish you well man.

For the last 4 years, I have participated in the Distinguished Gentleman’s ride. It is a charity ride for men’s health that happens on the same day worldwide. This year was my first time hosting and it was a huge success. Some pictures from the ride and my ugly mug on my Bobber.

Added a 2nd Harley to the stable on Saturday evening so we'll have something more suitable for longer rides.  This one is a 2007 Road King.  96ci, and has a performance chip.  Unbelievable power when compared to the Springer!

Here she is--trunk and windshield removed for daily use, wearing her new tires and freshly bathed.

ETA:  I had been looking at big baggers for awhile, but hadn't found 'The One'.  Gf and I were out for a nice ride early Saturday morning on the Springer.  The Softail is a perfect bike for cruising back roads, putt-putting through town, or poker runs.....the chrome front end just oozes Old School Cool to me, but with the 5 speed transmission, 88ci motor, skinny front tire and no windshield, it's hard to ride at today's freeway speeds.  We got home from our 3 hr ride and she commented that we should look into a bigger bike and take some road trips this summer.

I don't need to be told to buy another bike twice!

I opened up my Fb marketplace and there she was--clean bike, 20k miles, never wrecked, one owner, all maintenance records---and about $2K less expensive than similar bikes listed.  The gentleman who owned it needed the money fast.  The only real problem it had was a dry rotted front tire and a bald rear tire.  He threw in a brand new set of Dunlops that he bought but couldn't afford to have installed.

I spent Sunday going over the bike--washing, polishing, inspecting, testing, adjusting levers and controls to my preferred locations, and of course, replacing both tires. Its nice to be able to do my own maintenance, but I can honestly say that I understand why a shop charges so much to swap tires--that's a lot of work to do in a driveway

Went up into Virginia last Saturday to ride the "Back of the Dragon". Not as good as the Tail of the Dragon IMO but still a fun ride. Bike is a 2021 ZX10

The last 8 years of my 20+ years on two years has been racetrack-only. I've been racing, coaching, and doing track days on a 2016 Kramer HKR Evo2R for the last couple years. I also have a 2000 Ducati 996 SPS sitting in the shop, my last street ride, awaiting either a compelling reason to sell it, or an especially good reason to convert it to a race bike.

Nice Kramer.  I'm sure that is one of those bikes that once you ride it, buying one become inevitable.

It's an amazing bike for sure. I've never ridden anything else with the same level of agility, and I used to track an Aprilia RS250.

That Daytona is beautiful! I had an early 675 track bike for several years that I loved, I bet the extra displacement and nicer suspension make for a significant upgrade!

I had some leftover single-stage silver from a Freightliner bumper, so I finally shot some paint on the engine guards I built out of scrap tubing last year. Also did a valve adjustment, oil change, and alternator belt when I had them off.  I bought some Adventure-length Öhlins TTX from someone on ADVRider and had them overhauled and adjusted for my weight, then installed them when I had the bike blown apart for a clutch replacement last season.  No further maintenance or upgrades planned for now, rides like a brand new 60,000-mile tractor.

My son is a big fan of the Gent's rides, combines a few of his favorite things (bikes, charity rides, snappy attire,). He recently purchased a used Triumph Scrambler with the plan to customize it and is looking forward to attending. I told him to just say when and I'll grab a bike and join him.

My son bought one as his first bike, it's been through a bunch of mods now. Even tho he has other bikes, his DRZSM sees most use.... says he will never sell it. Sumo's are just plain fun on the street.

We just have to decide which one to attend. He's stationed in Missouri, we have family in Illinois that could also attend, and I live close enough to Cleveland and I know riders here. Tough call, I think I'll let him decide. He may decide to go to a completely different state.... someplace more scenic and make a trip out of it.
