Past or present.  I will start:

My Cayman S.

3.4 flat 6 making about 295HP.  4 valves per cylinder with VVT and sequentail EFI.

Getting exhaust and plenum upgrade along with computer flash tomorrow.

6 speed manual.

Michelin Pilot Super Sports, of course.

Cayman S and Anniversary Edition RX7 Turbo II

The RX7 is a 1.3 liter rotary with a turbo with 5 speed manual and Bridgestone Potentzas.  These pics are at a couple of turns at Roebling Road near Savannah.

My 1988 Mazda 929:
3.0 liter 3 valve V6, 5 speed manual.  Bridgestone Potenzas.

And from my long distant past, me and my 1954 Packard Hearse.  3 on the tree with a manual OD.  400 cubic inch straight 8 flathead.  Damn tank.

Picture taken with a Polaroid about 1967 in Clarkston, GA.

No, I didn't paint the critters on it, the old guy I bought it from had done that and I was just a poor kid back then and could not afford to repaint it.

Thank you.  This is from the sticker:
“2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder, 16-valve engine
with vanable valve control (Douole-VANOS and Valvetronic) and high-precision direct injection.”
HP is 255, which doesn’t seem like much but she moves.  It might be the 295 lbs of torque that helps it, along with the weight🤷🏻‍♂️

She went in over the winter for Trans and Oil coolers. Came out with both coolers, F/R Steeda sways, Steeda K-brace and a new pony-less grille.
All ready for track season here in a few months.

I had to give it back (title issues) or I would never have gotten the 570.  And of course, yes, to the second ... this ain't no garage queen.

@D_J

Very badass!!! I tracked an Audi R8 track edition and a Ferrari 458……next level on the track for sure.
Sticks like glue! I can only imagine the 570.

Anyhow, the wholesaler went out of business, so they dealer was not able to complete these title transfer to me.  I did some legwork and found the title was still listed as the owner in CO.  They'll have to do a salvage title and sell it for a fraction of its value now.

I'm sure he had plenty of leeway, but I've seen a car destroy someone at 35 mph (inline skater who crossed against the light) so yeah, a bit crazy.

It's faster in a straight line than the GT3, but slower in the corners due to less tire.  Last track day, a friend was there with his ZR-1 and his front tires were wider than my rears.  I'd like to go to larger wheels and wider tires, but don't want to sink another $10k into it when I only track a few times a year.  We'll be at AMP again saturday.

Wow! No shit! Just googled and shows a 225/35/19 front and a 285/35/20 rear? Is that right? And $10K to squeeze more!? That’s not much tire for a supercar lol.
I’m 285/35/19 squared with no mods required and can do a 305/35/19 with a few hundred dollars in spacers and studs - I’m just a rustang though
Just stocked up on SuperCar3’s in 285 so unfortunately won’t be making the switch to 305’s until next year.
Good on you for getting out there! That’s super badass!!
It’s snowing right now in my neck of the woods, so unfortunately I won’t be out for a few months.

Even a pre-track inspection runs $375.

Yeah that’s rough. I did the PS4S’s for a few days last year (didn’t care too much for them) and then moved to the GY SuperCar3’s, huge difference. My 911 buddy runs the R888r’s successfully.
And yep, good wheels are definitely costly. My track wheels are 10 lbs lighter per, almost 50% what the stock wheels weighed lol.

Looks like a few others have posted cars they used to own but sold.

'87 Buick Grand National.  I purchased this car in 2001 with 17,400 original miles.  It still had the factory plastic on the radio and seat backs.  I did a few basic (reversible) bolt-on mods.  This was a fun car.  Sold in '08.  Really wish I still had it.

Picked this up two weeks ago, rebuilt the VANOS, did the DISA valve, coolant system was new, everything GTG.  M54B30 apparently had other plans and went pop.  Guessing a rod decided to eject through the pan.  Will know more once I pull the motor.  And subsequently not sure if I'll swap another B30 ZHP motor in or a regular B30 and swap cams over, or just LS1 it.

Was just cruising along at about 70 when I heard knocking, was trying to merge the shoulder (4 lanes of traffic) and couldn't make it in time to kill the motor before she let go.  No overheating prior to that.  Either the oil pump nut let loose or a bearing just decided it was time.  Motor was, honest to goodness, quiet, smooth, and running great up to that point.  It's got the ZF auto in it so may be a good time to go ahead and swap in the six speed.  Cool little package for this car, but I'm not sure what BMW was thinking by not putting an LSD in the rear end.

Anyway, 2004 BMW 330i ZHP in silbergrau (silver gray).  She's got some hail damage so I got her cheap...ish.

If it doesn't start with a 3, is it really a performance tire?

Thanks!  That was a hardtop.  I sold it to buy a T-top car that was not nearly pristine, but was even more fun (and faster).  And yeah, they have been going for STUPID money for a while now.  Having owned a few, I completely understand the appeal, but when I see the prices they are going for, I just think to myself, "Yes, I would like to have one again, but I'm NOT paying that kind of money for an '80's GM plastic interior".

That can be said of any and all performance cars/vehicles.  OEM technology eventually catches up and surpasses older tech.  Go watch some YouTube videos of lightly modified Tesla's drag racing for an perfect example.  The turbo Buicks were ahead of the game off the showroom floor, but the biggest advantage they had was how well they responded to very minimal modifications.  Didn't take much to get them to make impressive HP and monster torque.  That coupled with a fairly light vehicle (for full-frame car) made of a fun package.  That said, new engine and drivetrain technology is like any other new technology as it can be applied to older platforms.  In the case of the turbo Buicks, there are still some heavily modified turbo Buicks prowling around that have state of the art turbo designs, fuel injection systems etc.  They are still 100% capable of running with the big dogs.  There's just not very many around now.
