Well boys, we let the old truck thread slip into the archive, so I figured I would start a new one. Maybe we can have this one pinned.

2015 Ram 2500 with the 6.4L. Bought it in November and it gave me something to do over the winter after we got done combining. Started out as a salvage pickup out of Colorado with blown front airbags/seat belts, a wrecked box, pushed in fuel tank, dented drive shaft and a dented rear cab corner.
I did all the work myself except the body work on the cab corner and bedliner below the style lines on the doors and cab corners. Tore the interior apart to replace the seat belts, airbag sensors, controller, air bags (which require a new dash for the passenger bag), steering column, etc. Replaced the drive shaft with a salvage unit. I was able to drain the fuel tank and heat the plastic tank with a heat gun and just reach in and pop it back out. Replaced some blown out brake lines and the broken vapor canister. Took the box and rear hitch off and replaced it with a CM skirted flat bed. Replaced the headlights with projectors and LED bulbs. Added clearance lamps on the roof. Replaced the stock muffler with a Mufflex unit. Dropped in a cold air intake. New Fuel Vapor rims (it had 3 discontinued rims with it, and 2 stock steel rims, so I figured I'd spend a bit more and get something I liked). I just replaced the grille with a black aftermarket unit and ordered a Bodyguard T2 Extreme bumper/grille guard. Its also sporting new wheel to wheel running boards that fit under the flat bed skirt so I have a better step than what's available with the flat bed. I also have a few LED off road lights that'll end up on the bumper and flat bed. It's been a fun project and saved quite a bit of cash as well. I've got some before and during photos if anyone's interested. Mainly of the unholy mess behind the dash and creating a subframe for the flatbed to clear the gooseneck plate on the pickup. Put the ford to work last weekend. Not much compared to many here but it's about as heavy as I'll probably ever tow.

1959 F-100 Project truck. I am planning a resto-Mod to it. My late grandpa bought it new in ‘59 when dad was born.
It has a 1960 or ‘61 tailgate on it and possibly a 289 from a Mercury Cougar. Either that or he had problems with the original valve covers, they’re stamped Mercury. The driver’s side exhaust header wraps around the front of the block and meets with the passenger side. Attached File |
