Was speaking with a relative the other day who had a neighbor drop by.  Mentioned he managed to acquire an plot of land with an old house on it because the county had sized it for the back taxes due and that someone had just left it.
How can you start to look for property like this?
Id love to find a parcel of 40-80 acres or so with an old house on it - at a bargain price.

Any suggestions?
Start with the county tax office?

I looked in to this some but never started doing it.  I never found anything anywhere close to worth trying to pick up.  But you never know I guess.
