With Texas in the Sweet 16, the question comes up. Has any college won a National Championship in the same year in both Football & College?

My best suspects would be during the John Wooden era or a Big 10 Team.

You mean football and basketball?

Not sure about that, but U of Miami Hurricanes won the football national championship and the baseball world series the same year, 2001.

It would be much easier to do in football & baseball because so few colleges field baseball teams.
It seems like every college fields a baketball team.

You musta seen the sign the guy had at one of the UT games which had:

Baseball? X
Football? X
Basketball? ?
