I looked into Netzero, but I really don't want a monthly $10 fee.  Any suggestions?

do you have a broadband connection at home? Phone line?

Set your computer up to accept incoming calls. That's what i used to do.

If you use a cell phone, your speed will be exceptionally slow (19.2k?).

No active land line, but I do have Vonage and broadband.

What a hoot that would be - dial in via voip, back out via BB.

Whatever ISP you go with make sure they don't block the email port.

Several years ago when I pcs'ed from Kadena AB to Seymour Johnson AFB I stopped in Philadelphia for leave.

I figured sign up with a national ISP and I can surf the net now and keep the same account when I get to NC.

I forget who it was, but it turned out I could only access email on their server. Could not access email on my website. After some research I discovered several ISPs block the email port for spam reasons.

Of course hotmail and gmail would work fine, but if you have a website with its own email it can be a problem.
