I see figures that are low and that go to up to 1.2 Mhz. Almost all the dual CPU MBs have a ower FSB than the latest boards. Is it really that much of a hindernence?

faster is better, like in most computer things basically the faster the FSB the faster data can be passed between memory, the hard drive, and CPU

CPU speed is definitely a key component of overall speed. But if there's even one link in the chain that's slow..everything else (including the CPU) will wait for it. CPU's are already fast....2 and 3 GHz. Front side bus speed is often 400MHz on these machines....a faster FSB frees up the CPU (if it's not already busy) to talk to the rest of the machine faster.

Generaly speaking (it varies with cpu familes) the FSB speed is how fast the CPU is connected to the rest of the computer.

The FSB allows the gas expelled from the fired round to exit through a hole in barrel to the gas tube connected at the upper part of the FSB, thereby dircting the gas through the gas tube to interact with the carrier, thus pushing the carrier to the rear and by the reaction of the buffer spring to cycle the action for the next round.
Or a 200mhz FSB is faster in processing data than a 100mhz FSB.
