Finally made the big step up so now I have 12.8 megapixels.
Just in time for my next Utah trip.
Now I am $3000 poorer.

Legs I want a full "range" report on that puppy. I was just thinking about getting a new DSLR body to add to the current one(I may be going back to finish up my photo journalism degree) and that is one of the two I was looking at.

Its gonna get a brutal testing soon in Utah with all the elements.
I am interested to see how it holds up at night in cold wheather.

Now I really don't need a photo lab for anything.
Epson 4990 Scanner and a Canon i9900 printer.

But I still shoot film on the best shots. Just to have it on film.

Do you process your own film or have it done?

Awesome dude!  I know you'll love it.  Mine is just incredible...have no complaints whatsoever.

That is a serious piece of hardware. Congratulations- your wallet will recover sooner or later. I know what you mean about film, though. Digital still seems like a very temporary format to me. We have a decent idea of how long a CD-R disc lasts, but most of the predictions aren't born from real world experience. I know for sure how long my negatives will last if I store them in a cool, dry place.

I would have expected some sample shots to have been posted by now....

Did you sell the 20d?

No way! Thats my back up now.

I did sell the digital Rebel though.

I sold my 20D when I got the 5D.  I plan to buy another one though, once the new Canon camera is introduced...I will pick up a 20D used for hopefully under $800.

I saw one (body) for $850, so perhaps we're approaching that point soon....  D-Rebs have been seen under $500 already...

I bought a used DRebel for $400 last fall to take along as a backup camera on a trip out west.  Sold it for the same price when I got back (didn't use it).

Nice when a back up camera is a bad ass camera in its own right with the 20D.

The 20D is a very good camera, technically, but to be honest with you I never liked the way it felt in my hand.  The 10D was about perfect as far as feel, and the 5D is a lot like the 10D in that regard.

Since I was buying some lenses I bought a new 20D body during the end of year Canon rebate program. getting the $300 rebate, so with the deal I got when buying the body my final cost for the NIB 20D was only around $850
