About a year and a half ago, I was 60 lbs overweight. I gave up drinking pop (soda, Coke, depending where you are from) and lost 30 lbs in 6 weeks. I drink either water, or brewed ice tea, now. I also cut down eating out at the fast food resturants. If I have to eat at one, most offer salads and bottled water. I also observed how many hours I sat behind the computer; approx. 15 hrs per day. No wonder I was overweight and my back was going out every 2 weeks! So, I cut the computer time, started walking (try listening to Tony Robbins, Daily Magic for motivation) and then joined a martial arts class. After 6 months of this, I dropped down to 150lbs. People were taking up a collection behind my back, thinking I had cancer and was undergoing chemo! I finally stablized my weight by going from a 1200 kcal per day diet to 1400 kcals per day. As of today, I am 168, which is healthy for my height (5'11) and have held this weight for almost 7 months.
