My best mile ever was 5:25 back in high school but I'm really not a distance runner. Today I run more distances than I ever used to. I recenly (within a month) ran a 6:35 mile as the first split of a 5 mile run. I'm sure I could run close to 6:00 or even just under if I were to run just a mile for all out time. The best I ever bench pressed was 225 lbs. about 9 years ago. I probably could barely do 175 now. I'm 5' 9 3/4" and about 150 now. I was about 165 lbs. then and quite a bit stronger because I lifted everyday. I used to run track and long jump in school and I jumped offically 23' 3 3/4" in 1988 at the AAU Junior Olympics in Lawrence KS. I ran a 10.85 100 meters and the furthest I've ever run was just over 10 miles this year. I'm trying to get my running times down to about 7:00 per mile or less on average for 4 - 5 miles.

3:17 at the Cleveland Marathon in 2003.
1:32 for the 1/2 marathon. I ran the Boston Marathon this past spring. It was the slowest I have ever done a marathon due to the heat and <insert excuse here>... 10 mile bike time trial in 23:52... almost 26 MPH average. Edited to add... I'm almost 40. |

I hand steered my fathers 40 ft sailboat for 5 hours running downwind in 45 knot winds, 12-18 foot seas. It took enormous amount of concentration to keep her from gybeing and broaching. Man that was a workout....

This was just before deploying. OEF about 2 years ago.
11:38 two miles 120 Push-Ups 98 Sit Ups I am a Reservist and the Active Duty guys wanted to talk some trash about us being fat and out of shape. So I smoked all of them and talked a little shit of my own. Guess they should have taken a better look before opening there mouths. They just kind of looked at there boots and shut up after that. Ran an a bit faster before 11:14 but never had, over all better than that. Not bad for some one who was 28yrs old 5'6 and 140lbs I'm 31 now and still run around 12 1/2 |

How is the new house? Soon we'll be in the same mess of moving! |
I never maxed out on a bench, but the peak I used to do in my workout was 3 sets of 30 reps with 180 pounds. This was back when I was training in the martial arts, and was lifting weights religiously as part of my training.
I wish I still had that kind of endurance. |
High jumped 6'-10" and change in college. Now about 60# heavier can barely dunk a b-ball. But I now bench arouns 260.
5" 10" and a buck sixty age 39
Bench 250 3 miles - 18:20 Could never quite make that 300 PFT. Oh well, now I mostly wither in pain from all the abuse I've subjected my body to over the years. |
13 times in a 8 hour period with the same woman, 2000 yards in 48 minutes (swim), 4 pots of coffee during an all nighter to get a paper done back in '95, reloaded 1000 rounds of .45ACP one rainy Saturday afternoon. |
2 miles: 14 min 30 seconds. Max time allowed for PT is 15:56. Im pretty much wasted after that though.

That is a smoking run time for three miles. The PFT favors the little guy in stuff like PU's and SU's. I don’t think it’s a fair way to judge fitness, its not horrible but it could be allot better

A couple of weeks ago I ran the Chicago Half Marathon (13.1M) @ 12:02/M with a finish time of 2:37:20.
And this weekend I ran a 5k @ 9:43/M with a finish time of 29:31.4. (I was motivated to get to the wine tasting at the finish line ) Have a couple more 5k's and then another half marathon in Nov, so hopefully I will keep improving! |
