This is the official 2017 body transformation competition thread. For posterity sake, we will begin officially on January 9th and end on June 1st for the short term contest. Long term will end on New Year's Eve. At the end of the contests we will vote on the contestants still participating.

Fairly simple entry rules: take a picture of your current body, post it in this thread along with your current weight and any other biometrics that you may have available or access to, and post your goals.

I don't care if your goal is to lose weight, gain muscle, or blow up like a tick on a hound dog. We're transforming our bodies, not necessarily for the best.

ETA - we will figure out a prize for the winner for each contest. Either chocolate cake or a Pmag. Haven't decided.

ETA2 - I'll be posting tonight for my entry.

most likely you can count me in.  Doing a weight loss competition at work anyway.

lol

whoops meant to quote kaik

I'd be in.  Last year I didn't lose much fat but I added some muscle and most of my lifts went up.

I'd love to lose 15-20 pounds of blubber.

Can we either do two (short and long) or make it a long one? 6 months is my vote. Give us enough time to really make a transformation.

ETA: January 2016 6' 197lbs. Primary goal: Overall health (lower BP, lower cholesterol, etc.). Secondary goal: Less fat, more muscle.

ETA this thread has been tacked, lets get it on.  Here are some pics for those of you with a chubby fetish.

Weighed today 1-2-17 in at 229 pounds and just took the pics.  43 years old.

Goal is to be sub 15% BF, verified by the BodPod.. Right now I am probably 22-23% BF.

Program will be a periodization program similar to 5/3/1, but with a rep scheme of 8/5/2.

Week one 3x8x70% 1RM (true 1RM max, not 90% 1RM like wendlers)

Week two 3x5x80% 1RM

Week three 3x2x90% 1RM

plus of course assistance lifts.

I want to do 2x a week HIIT, but who knows at this point if I will.

Plan is to eat 2300-2500 cals a day with appropriate macros.

With or without HIIT I would lean out good over the next 6 months with the lifting and hitting the calorie/macro goals most of the time.

I would vote for a 6 month deal, but whatever you guys decide is cool with me.

I'm down for 6 months. I stand a good chance of winning because I have no shame and would post after pictures with 20 more pounds of fat while everyone else would just drop out. That's my strategy anyways.

** edit

46 yo , 5'7" , married with wife, 10yo, 15yo daughters , working at 911/Police/Fire dispatch so chained to phones/computers for 40-60 hours a week.
2012 went from 236>181 for a 6 month work "biggest loser" with drastic reduction in soda, beer, crap food, MFP daily tracking and 1000 miles on my bike, walking, some "jogging", everything was well for about 2 years and then I started slipping...SO here we go again.

I'm having trouble posting pictures. Photobucket isn't working for me. I just downloaded the Imgur app and when I go to copy the URL it comes up blank. Any suggestions?

I can always use an incentive to fight the fat.

Placeholder tag.

OK, here's swallowing my pride.

Stats from a weigh in at the rec center last week.  Ignore the target body fat percentage on the paper.  That was the rec center's goal for people.

Always been told I was 5' 10" tall.  Current doctor's office says I'm 5' 9.5", so I'm erring on the side of caution here.

My personal goals:  Tone up.  Bring my body fat percentage down towards 15% while increasing muscle mass, maintaining overall weight around 165 lbs.  This will mean swapping out about 7 lbs of fat for 6-7 lbs of muscle.
My current plan:
90+ minutes of strength training per week.
3+ hours cardio per week.
Eliminate daily soda consumption at work.
Eat 3+ protein-based breakfasts each week.  I'm really getting to like eggs.

Challenges:
1.  I don't have very good knees anymore.  High school injuries have come back to haunt me and I have less meniscus in my knees now.  Cardio now is low-impact, such as using an elliptical or going out cycling in the warmer months.
2.  I've had impingement issues with my right shoulder.  Had to stop using weights for nearly a year to get the inflammation to go down enough for full use of my right arm again.

I'm willing to update my goals and plan, but feel good with this as a baseline to start from.

You fight the fat by adding muscle (in large part), come over and lets get you going!

I work out in my folks basement, 3 min from my house.  The compound barbell movements are the best bang for your buck, I am more than happy to show you how.

Here are my fat body pics
5ft 9in

42 years old
I'm starting to lift in an attempt to gain some muscle and lose my gut
I have a muscle building/light cardio routine from bodybuilding.com that I am going to follow, but nutrition is going to be tricky since I'm on a small camp overseas and the food sucks but I've made a crack deal with a local to get me a hot plate and I've found a supermarket where I can buy frozen chicken breast....hopefully I don't loose weight due to food poisoning....lol

Looking at ModernDayIsraelite's pics makes me believe that I may have I found my long lost hairier older brother...lol

Big fat fatty fatso pics to make you all feel better.   That's 6 feet and 236 pounds of Presbyterian Freemason glory.

If you need eye bleach I understand.

My plan is 3 days of weights and aerobics,  with two days of swimming class.  Swimming is usually about a mile per day.  Eating less sugar fat and carbs and drinking less.  More veggies and meat.  I know everyone loves keto, but it's not a good fit for me.  I want to get close to 200.  I don't know my BMI, or I'd set a goal there.

In for 12 months.

Placeholder tag. Gotta do better than last year's contest: dead last.

You can see my entry here: Last Year Results.

I dropped 30 lbs between January and May (as pictured), and then dropped another 35 lbs between May and October. My charts, amusingly, are directly linked to my Google doc, so actually show the full picture even though I didn't update the post.

ETA:

Weighed in today, 1/8, at 205.2. I'm expecting that once holiday water weight finishes coming off, I'll be closer to 200, at which point I'll start tracking closer.

Based on last year, I'm also going to suggest allowing entries for at least one, possibly two more weeks. We had a number of people stumble in late, having not known about it.

On that note, if entries stay open, I (or someone else, don't really care) could post an advertisement thread in GD.

Yea, that's fine. Go for it @Zirak

I'll be in for the year. I'll take pics of fat body and scale in the morning, since that's when I weigh myself.

Lost 40 last year by the 4th of July and have gained 20 back, since

Here we go:

6'3", 296.8 lbs

No specific goal, just want to get as low as I am able and get stronger.

Fuck it. I'm in.

Metrics:
5-11', 271.6lbs
26 years old

Goal weight: 180
Planned workouts: Everyday. Mix of weights and cardio. Also hiking, shooting drills, etc as it comes.
Changes to habits: Cutting soda and junk food. Sticking to water, and healthy meals. Starting meal planning and prep.
Using MFP to track meals and goals/metrics. Also got a Fitbit for Christmas, so going to try that out.

I started to get back into shape last year, but lack of support and drive led to me slipping. I'm counting on ARFCOM to help keep me going.
