This is the official 2017 body transformation competition thread. For posterity sake, we will begin officially on January 9th and end on June 1st for the short term contest. Long term will end on New Year's Eve. At the end of the contests we will vote on the contestants still participating.
Fairly simple entry rules: take a picture of your current body, post it in this thread along with your current weight and any other biometrics that you may have available or access to, and post your goals. I don't care if your goal is to lose weight, gain muscle, or blow up like a tick on a hound dog. We're transforming our bodies, not necessarily for the best. ETA - we will figure out a prize for the winner for each contest. Either chocolate cake or a Pmag. Haven't decided. ETA2 - I'll be posting tonight for my entry. |

I'm too lazy right now. You do it. That way you have to follow through.

most likely you can count me in. Doing a weight loss competition at work anyway.

lol
whoops meant to quote kaik I'd be in. Last year I didn't lose much fat but I added some muscle and most of my lifts went up. I'd love to lose 15-20 pounds of blubber. |

ETA this thread has been tacked, lets get it on. Here are some pics for those of you with a chubby fetish.
Weighed today 1-2-17 in at 229 pounds and just took the pics. 43 years old. Goal is to be sub 15% BF, verified by the BodPod.. Right now I am probably 22-23% BF. Program will be a periodization program similar to 5/3/1, but with a rep scheme of 8/5/2. Week one 3x8x70% 1RM (true 1RM max, not 90% 1RM like wendlers) Week two 3x5x80% 1RM Week three 3x2x90% 1RM plus of course assistance lifts. I want to do 2x a week HIIT, but who knows at this point if I will. Plan is to eat 2300-2500 cals a day with appropriate macros. With or without HIIT I would lean out good over the next 6 months with the lifting and hitting the calorie/macro goals most of the time. I would vote for a 6 month deal, but whatever you guys decide is cool with me. Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

I'm down for 6 months. I stand a good chance of winning because I have no shame and would post after pictures with 20 more pounds of fat while everyone else would just drop out. That's my strategy anyways.

What the hey, I'm in. Just talked to a trainer at my gym, signing up for regular sessions. If HE can't get effort out of me, the extra cash sure will. LOL

I'm having trouble posting pictures. Photobucket isn't working for me. I just downloaded the Imgur app and when I go to copy the URL it comes up blank. Any suggestions?

I can always use an incentive to fight the fat. Placeholder tag. View Quote You fight the fat by adding muscle (in large part), come over and lets get you going! I work out in my folks basement, 3 min from my house. The compound barbell movements are the best bang for your buck, I am more than happy to show you how. |

Pictures added up top. Honestly, pictures don't do justice. I have a pretty round gut and chicken legs to hold it up . Here's to hoping that all changes.

Placeholder tag. Gotta do better than last year's contest: dead last.
You can see my entry here: Last Year Results. I dropped 30 lbs between January and May (as pictured), and then dropped another 35 lbs between May and October. My charts, amusingly, are directly linked to my Google doc, so actually show the full picture even though I didn't update the post. ETA: Weighed in today, 1/8, at 205.2. I'm expecting that once holiday water weight finishes coming off, I'll be closer to 200, at which point I'll start tracking closer. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Based on last year, I'm also going to suggest allowing entries for at least one, possibly two more weeks. We had a number of people stumble in late, having not known about it.
On that note, if entries stay open, I (or someone else, don't really care) could post an advertisement thread in GD. |

Go for it @Zirak We'll extend the entry to Feb 1, just arbitrary date. |

Fuck it. I'm in.
Metrics: 5-11', 271.6lbs 26 years old Goal weight: 180 Planned workouts: Everyday. Mix of weights and cardio. Also hiking, shooting drills, etc as it comes. Changes to habits: Cutting soda and junk food. Sticking to water, and healthy meals. Starting meal planning and prep. Using MFP to track meals and goals/metrics. Also got a Fitbit for Christmas, so going to try that out. I started to get back into shape last year, but lack of support and drive led to me slipping. I'm counting on ARFCOM to help keep me going. Started at 229, today I was 226. Down 3 in about 10 days or so. That is a good pace for what I am wanting to do. Pulled a notch in on my lifting belt.

Been stuck in hospital for 2 days it's messing my diet all up. The food here is such shit.
