So let me see if I understand this. They cut off power just long enough for the house to cool off, then when the power comes back on, it takes extra power to heat the house. Makes perfect sense to me.

I think it was meant as a warning "cut back or you'll lose power longer"
TVA had our rural electric co-op do it yesterday - twice - for 20-30 min each time. Was awesome trying to prep meals for a family breakfast gathering. War on coal has a clear winner.
