Man, I just spent $5k paying off my damn credit card!!!

Saw that and briefly considered it until I thought about the subsequent glass, ammo, reloading component, and accessory purchases. Realized I'd be in for another $5k+.

I've always heard that they aren't that accurate. If I knew I was getting a 1 MOA shooter, I'd be all over that deal. I'll probably never splurge on a 50, but if I did, I'd buy a McMillan Tac50 or an Accuracy International AX50.

Lol "free Pelican hardcase" GTFO. I wonder where they are selling the scopes off of them at? Someone had the scoped version for $7500 the last few weeks.

The Serbu bfg is less than 7k and more accurate so why get the Barrett?

It hits what I aim at..... I went to the range last week and fired one round at 100 cold. It hit the dead center of a 1 inch bull. I couldn't have made a better hole with a drill press. |

Saw it for 14 years. The "accurate" ones are not that common I have one I did major surgery on to make it accurate. Took a bunch of work, new one off made parts, welding and a new barrel to accommodate the modifications. Wouldn't do that again for anything. It was a pain in the ass. |

Once again, like I posted in another thread, The M82a1 is not a match/precision rifle. It hits the targets I shoot. I is fun. it is the .50 cal version of a FAL imo. I did not buy it to shoot in long range matches. |

It reads like you have a personal mission to hurt the business all you can. Funny thing is, when I called the company and asked who you are, I got the impression that there was more to this story. ETA: I have read so many of your posts here and in the 50 subforum, I had to at least ask what was up. I would wonder, were I you, how much you can push before a libel / slander case starts to form. |

I only clicked on this thread to learn if that was a good price...

I would probably pick up a 338 before a 50, but if you are looking for that particular 50, its a good deal IMO.

Still twice what it is worth. View Quote Yup. Trying to recoup R&D to this day. There is at best $2500 worth of steel and aluminum in that. More like $1500 in reality. Why hasn't someone come out with. Much much much cheaper version? Armalite was t too expensive side was it? Do they still offer the bolt action version? |

If I ever get good enough with my 308 to justify it, I will have one... Or if I ever decide I really need a platform to put holes in metal things or set stuff on fire at distance.

That's the same price I paid for my M82CQ back in 2010.
Figure with inflation over 5 years that is a pretty solid price. My impression after owning an M82 for half a decade is that its a fun gun and if you have the financial means and the place to shoot it grab one as there really isn't anything like it. The Serbu is cheaper but they seem to have reliability issues and are ammo sensitive in my limited experience. That said it is one gun I do think about selling on a somewhat regular basis. The negatives for me are 1. They are huge and take up a ton of room in my safe. 2. They are expensive to shoot at a couple bucks a round 3. The biggest con for me is that I only shoot it maybe once a year now at best. The only local range with any distance banned 50 BMG a couple years ago. So its starting to become this big, heavy, expensive, no place to really shoot anymore gun. I could recycle the rings/optic onto something else like a 338 down the line (that I could use at the local 1K range) or just pocket the money and put toward another toy altogether. |

AI would be real nice
but the Barrett has REDUCED RECOIL <------------THINK ABOUT THAT less bump than a 3-1/2 12 ga |
