Seeing as how there is no sticky, can someone explain the MOA concept to me?

I'll give a cliff's notes rundown:

"MOA" = Minute of Angle

A circle has 360 degrees.
A degree can be divided into 60 minutes (in this case "minutes" = a unit of measurement, not time).
A minute can be further divided into 60 seconds. (yeah, I know, makes the time thing even more confusing, just go with it).

Now, here's the kicker:
As luck would have it, at 100 yards, 1 minute of angle (1/60th of 1/360th of a circle) is approximately 1 inch.
Due to the nature of circles, 1 MOA = 2 inches (approx.) at 200 yards

1MOA =
3 inches at 300 yards.
5 inches at 500 yards.
1/2 inch at 50 yards
1/4 inch at 25 yards (or 1/4 of 100 yards - get it?).

2 MOA =
2 inches at 100 yards
6 inches at 300 yards
10 inches at 500 yards
1 inch at 50 yards
1/2 inch at 25 yards.

3 MOA =
3 inches at 100 yards
9 inches at 300 yards
15 inches at 500 yards
1.5 inches at 50 yards
3/4 inch at 25 yards.

1/2 MOA =
1/2 inch at 100 yards
1.5 inches at 300 yards
2.5 inches at 500 yards
1/4 inch at 50 yards
1/8 inch at 25 yards.

Hope this helps.

Technically, a MOA is 1.047 inches at 100 yds. and 10.47 inches at 1000.....but hey.....what's a half inch at 1000 yards.
