Is there a class for shooting prone, (sling &jacket) but with a scope for 600 & 1000 yard matches? would this be "any rifle" and "any sight"?
I shoot HP, butI am still new. Fclass looks fun but i really have come to enjoy shooting with the sling. I am not talking about a across teh course match or palma. THey local club has 600 and 1000 yard matches. I really like shooting high power, but my vision is not the best and at 600 I have some trouble with it. Maybe one day down the road I would like to get a rifle and shoot a match like that. If there is a class what kind of setup does everyone shoot? for 600 I was think maybe savage 223 ft/r and NF, or WOA match rifle upper and NF, or sightron. |

You may be able to find a good shooter to take you on as a project. A few sessions would probably be more tailored to your needs than a class largely geared at something else.
I wear reading glasses when I shoot to bring my focus in some. Also progressive lenses can lead to all kinds of shooting difficulties. |

The coach at of the HP team is former distinguished HM, pres 100, etc etc. he has been teaching me alot. Its all very helpful. Im not saying i want to quit HP. I love it. i am just saying this sounds like it could be fun thing to do. |

If I'm reading your question right, you're asking about class, as in classification, ie, type of matches; as opposed to class, as in a place where you go to learn things. If I'm getting it right, I think the answer is yes, that would be "Any Rifle/Any Sights." And the matches you should look for are usually referred to as Mid-Range Prone or Long-Range Prone. Mid-Range is usually 300 or 600 yards, and Long-Range is usually 1000 yards. I don't have much experience with these kind of matches, but the descriptions I've seen are usually one string "Any Rifle/Iron Sights" and one or two strings "Any Rifle/Any Sights." Though you could probably shoot all the strings with whatever rifle you want, you just might not be eligible for awards against they guys shooting Any/Iron.
