Planning on purchasing a new barrel for my service rifle.  Leaning toward the Criterion barrel Creedmoor offers, but am also considering the WOP barrel.  What would you suggest?

Thanks,

Art

Both have good reputations, but the offereings are not exactly the same.
(I use the WOP)
FSB, reamers used, and prices, are slightly different. You probably can't go wrong in either case.
Dennis and John are known to deal in good quality products and will try and make you happy.

I use a CLE Barrel made from a Krieger blank. 556 Match Chamber, same profile as the MTU barrel on  my issue rifle. 1-7.7. Great barrel.  The WOP on the wilson blank in 1-8  isn't a bad choice either, I got about 3500 good rounds through a wilson barrel before I finally could say it was losing its edge, only could really tell because a newer rifle with a newer barrel was consistantly getting better scores and higher X counts. It could have lasted another 500 rounds without a serious detriment in my scores. I have no feedback from anyone on the Criterion Barrels, but if they are of the same quality as the Criterion M1 barrels, you should have zero issues with it as well.  If you are shooting master and on the edge of High master, the krieger may better serve you, but if you are working towards Master, the WOP or Criterion will serve you well and get you there and probably beyond without any trouble.

I just bought my first replacement barrel from Compass Lake Engineering. It's a SS 1:7 Douglass blank that they profile and chamber in house. Got it with the matching bolt and it was in stock, shipped right away. Good folks at CLE too.
